Great small town school with great teachers.

I have attended Pleasant Hill throughout my entire academic career and overall have had a fairly enjoyable experience. The teachers genuinely care about students and do their best to help them succeed. But the recent budget cuts have forced pleasant hill to minimize in many areas. The leadership at the middle school really needs to be re-evaluated. Students are getting away with terrible behavior with nothing more than a slap on the hand. The discinplinary system is looked at as a joke by many students. My hope is that the administration will realize these flaws and work to improve them because Pleasant Hill has much potential and hopefully will be able to live up to its reputation.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
