West Hills Montessori is an excellent school. Out child has attended since Kindergarten and is now in 4th grade. The teachers and administration are clearly invested in helping each child succeed. The Montessori method of education meets the child at that child's level, both academically and by their interests. I can't say enough about the high quality of education, care and dedication provided by WHM.
An experienced AMI trained Montessori elementary teacher started in September 2004, and a second one will begin in September 2006. The program is developing into a thriving elementary community and will add a year each year until it reaches 1st-6th grade. The best way for you to know if this is the right program for your child is to schedule an observation. You'll be amazed at the joyful learning you see.
I have a daughter who went to this school for three years with the same teacher in what they call their primary class (3yrs-Kindergarten). I absolutely love the teacher (who my younger son has now) and the school is very organized, professional and great with the students. I would highly recommend this school's primary education without reservations! However, now that my daughter has moved up to the Elementary level, (1-3 grade) I am not as happy with her teacher. She is good with the kids, but it is difficult to communicate with her on a parent-teacher level. Since there is only one Elementary class, I am looking at other options for her 2nd grade year.
