I am very happy with my son's performance academically and socially as a 6th grader at Alice Ott. We came from Portland Public School District and are much happier with the David Douglas District. My son had an issue with being bullied early in the year and I found administrator/VP Larson to be responsive and quick to help, which is a positive, especially in comparison to Portland Public.

It's one of the worst schools in the area. All the kids are on drugs and the teachers can't teach.

This a horrible school. The teachers are oppressive and kids get in trouble for minor things. You barely learn anything there. The kids are problem kids and the the school is just plain bad.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
