Profile Completeness

BASIC

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

The school is sub par. There is little to no supervision in or out of class. The immersion program is all the school has going for it and still there are massive problems. Despite parents and a few teachers who are committed to the school, the new administration has done little to help move the school forward. There is a massive lack of respect for parents who have concerns or ideas. Bullying issues run rampant, especially in the younger grades and there is even bullying by some of the adults. The culture of the school fosters lack of respect for parents invested in their children's education, safety, and experience. It's a sad and unfortunate thing to see since most of the parents are hard working, kind, and love their children. Past kindergarden, there's no reason to send your child here. Heaven forbid your child is active, has ADHD, or doesn't fit into the mold needed to push everyone through the education mill. This neighborhood is great, but the school doesn't deserve even one star.

They finally have a principal who cares; however too many teachers that can't and won't teach. Test scores have been falling. There TAG is a joke you have to fight so hard to get a plan very sad. Behaviors are still very bad. I'm pulling my child so they can have a real middle school experience.

My wife and I have a child enrolled for her 2nd year at Lent in the Spanish language-immersion program and we couldn't be happier with it; and I am a former PPS teacher. The new principal seems to be passionate about improving the school and eager to work with the community. We've met lots of great parents there who volunteer w/ the PTA and in the classroom. I was shocked to see this school's low rating. I think it's a case of the only people giving feedback being the ones have a gripe. I believe every school is great if the parents take an active role in their child's education. You get from it what you put into it.

There is a new principal who seems genuinely interested in the students, and the immersion program seems to be growing. I hope things improve.

My son attended this school for one year and there were nothing but issues. My son was beat up at recess, he came home with scratches all over him, and none of the teachers bothered to call me and tell me what happened. I had to call them several times before I could talk to someone. The communication with the vice principal was horrible. He was very rude and condescending. However, my sons teacher was wonderful and I kept in constant contact with him on my son's progress. Think twice before you send your child here.
