I worked 3 months in this school as a volunteer to do some community engagement activities. after reviewing the school issues I decided to do big fundraising event and worked by myself on every single detail without any support from the school especially the principle. he was very unprofessional and missed guided the whole school.

Simply put Glenfair is lacking leadership. The teachers are burt out and have no motivation or concern for the childrens growth and development, they simply show up to take home a pay check. The safety should be of great concern to any parent of an attending student as the school seems to follow there own rules and regulations without repremand. This school is a nightmare!

The school is struggling to meet it's AYP. There's alot of ELD students that those who speak English are often not challenge enough. This is my son's 3rd year and the only reason we didn't pull him out is because I like his teachers and with my involvement, he is actually getting the best education he can. I think they should focus more on teaching ESL student English instead of translating for everything; I think that's the problem here.

There are so many 'esl' kids there that the teachers seem to be behind in the actual teaching, instead they are just mastering communicating with these children. As a result my 5th grade daughter is still reviewing multiplication and is so unchallenged it's crazy. The number of teacher in service days is outrageous not to mention the one week per term off. I have to say that we have decided to move only because of this school and the lack of actual education that is going on. We have a 5 year old son that will not be going to this school.

Parent involvement is what is needed at Glenfair. I been at Glenfair for many years and see the teachers and staff working very hard. I would like to see parent participation increase. If more parents, grandparents or community members volunteered it would propel our cummunity forward. Volunteer to lead a sports program.

The teachers in my daughters 1st grade class are very committed, but the school lacks resources. Much time is spent with remedial programs; the advanced kids tend to be bored and languish.

I have 3 children at Glenfair. I really enjoy this school. I know all my kids teachers and the office staff. I think this a great school.

I think Glenfair staff needs to be more patient with the children at their school. my children have only been going there for three weeks and there has been more than 5 situations of shouting, and talking down and just plain being rude to these little kids. Also I think that they need to either get more staff or work out a better plan for the school schedule, because there is only about 90 days in the year. All because of teachers in service days. Another thing is, my oldest daughter is in second grade and she brings home first grade homework. My ther daughter is in kinder, and doesn't bring home ant homework. But I do think gym and music is great at least for the 1&2grade.

glenfair is a pretty good school but i think they need to work on discipline better. once your kid is bad they just label him bad forever. Its pretty cool that they allow all the kids to eat there for free. I also think they should have more sports or games for the kids after school . I like the teachers there they care about the kids and try to work with them to help them with their learning and pointing things out

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.
