This is an okay school. The teachers seem to care a lot. My daughter has actually found school to be boring and had to ask her teacher for some more challenging work. A lot of the kids are still learning English so sometimes it's not challenging enough for kids who don't fit that category. There seems to be a good level of parent involvement. ... Beware of Reynolds School District though. The former superintendent mismanaged money, so they have had to cut almost all extras this year, including PE, field trips, music, art, etc. The elementary schools are ok, but the high school is terrible (both my older kids went to RHS and RLA and I plan on moving my kids to a charter school or out of Reynolds before they get to that level)

I love this school! My eldest son started Kindergarten here and his teacher, Hildea Rook, was great. All the teachers and staff are very good and very communicative with the parents.

My son has gone to Hartley school for almost 2 years, and loves it. His teacher is wonderful, and the staff have always been great. We are going to be moving soon, and will miss the school and the teachers very much.

This school cares for their students and the students family. The teachers and office staff are motivated and friendly. Wonderful place to educate your kids.

This is a caring and wonderful school. I have seen so much concern from the teachers, counselor, and the principal. They know the children by their names. From my personal experience from his first grade teacher, Melinda Pollard, have been excellent. She is the best teacher I have ever seen. The counselor and the principal are absolutely wonderful as well.

About the tests

In 2009-2010 Oregon used the Oregon Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (OAKS) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 in reading and math; in grades 4, 7 and 10 in writing; and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science. The OAKS is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Oregon.
