Margaret Scott Elementary was once a small mostly white neighborhood school. Now the school has as diverse a population as any inner city school in the US . And it has met the challenges of working with and teaching non-English speaking children and their parents with huge successes. This once little school has also been forced to expand, both building-wise and staff-wise to accommodate the large influx of children who have recently made this school their own. This increased enrollment has put a significant burden on both teachers and other staff members as funding for programs and even staff has been cut and increased taxes to help schools have met with low voter appoval. Yet those teachers and staff who remain keep on smiling and giving, embracing the diversity of the children placed in their care, and wanting only to give them a first class education and help them gain an understanding and respect for one another . It is this indomitable and irrepressible spirit that infuses the whole neighborhood and make us all proud of our 'little' neighborhood gem .

I think that Maragaret Scott is a wonderful school. My children loved the school and had tons of fun there and I'm very very glad. I would not want my children to move to any other school at all.
