My son has been going there for two years because the middle school he was in (Joseph Lane) was horrible. He is a top student at Phoenix and scores high on tests. He's going into tenth grade this year there, but will probably be going to Roseburg (RHS) for the 11th and 12th grades to prepare for college. Phoenix academic programs are geared towards lower achieving students, so there is no homework. No music, art, sports and other extracurricular activities, however they do take the kids on a lot of nice field trips. I've seen little or no parent involvement.
