The high school has the best administration and teachers a parent could ask for. They are caring and truly work for and want every child to succeed.

I went to Sherwood High School and it has done nothing but improve. Sherwood is a great place to raise kids. I have two children who recently graduated one is in school to become a Dr and one is working full-time as a vet-tech and they are both there because of the education they received from Sherwood.

We love Sherwood! Both myself and my husband are SHS graduates and we chose to live here so our children would be involved in such a great community and great schools.

I feel that even though my kids attend a large school, they still get the attention from staff that they would get from a smaller school. There is a sense of community here.

Though our community continues to grow and has been rated high on the scale for 'most desirable living communities,' our high school staff and administrators have not lost sight of the 'small town' atmosphere that enhances learning and individuality of our students. No student is overlooked or 'pushed through' with the mass but rather encouraged and celebrated at every step. Learning is presented in a fun and stimulating atmosphere that continues to prove successful as shown in student testing. Hooray for Sherwood High School!!!

With less than 1% dropout rate and impressive test scores, they provide a GREAT educational experience. However, more than that they are partners in the community and the many activities that has made Sherwood a Top Ten Place to Raise a Family, as designated by FAmily Circle Magazine in 2009.

Sherwood is a great school that offers a good combination of academics, sports, clubs and school spirit. The facility, teachers and leaders care about creating a strong environment for learning and growth and the community is incredibly supportive. But what makes the school the best is the quality of the students themselves. They are a good set of kids who function as a student body, but respect the differences of each other. they are passionate and care about what happens at their school.

Sherwood High school has teachers that really care about there students, both academically and personally. They strive to reach every students needs, and are willing to do what it takes to help that student. There athletic program is also very good, the coaches teach the players great sportsmanship and camaradere, winning may be important, but it's more about how you play the game.

It's hard to pick just one thing that makes SHS stand out. The school has an extremely low drop out rate. The staff and admin are great. The students take pride in the school. There is a great sense of community in the school and support from the community around the school. Students are supported whether their interest is in athletics, arts, academic, leadership, etc. We choose to send our children to Sherwood High School.

Sherwood schools are a great learning place that teach our kids not just about lessons in the class, but lessons about life. I wouldn't want my kids to go to any other school.

I have 2 daughters at SHS right now. Everything from the academics, teachers and grounds are awesome! The level of involvement from parents is incredible too, which I feel helps make the school run even better. I was voted onto the school Site Council last year, so I know a lot of what's going on and it's great!!!

I love Sherwood High School because they are always working to improve my children's futures. This starts from the grade schools on up. As the teachers and sports coaches communicate with each other to work on ways to build a stronger more confident child. They have different programs of teaching to accommadate each childs individual learning capabilities. This ensures that we do not have cookie cutter graduates.

We are moving out of District with a less then thrilled attitude toward this District. If your child does well in school then you should be fine, if your child struggles even in the slightest then you will have a horrible experience. If your child gets high State test scores that the school wants and plays football then this school is for you. If you want your child to get an education, and get equipped to handle college plus plays any sport other then football then this school IS NOT for you. Lived here 40 years, have a child that just graduated successfully but with 2 others coming up within the District it's time to move. Sherwood School District was great 5 or more years ago, now it has too many young inexperienced teachers and too old District Admin, not a good combination. Only one District nurse? She needs help too.

I love Sherwood HS and I love the Sherwood Community. I agree with parts of the previous comments - the community is pretty 'white bread' and probably is lacking in divisity but you really can't blame anyone for that, can you? I think the school admin does a good job of trying to bring attention to all activities at the school (referring to non-sports related activities) but yes, football is prominant. Very possibly because you have a coaching staff who almost all live in Sherwood and are very plugged into the community. If you had teachers/advisor who brought the same type of enthusiasm and inviting nature to their 'club/activity' it would make a big difference. My stepson is a Sophomore (2007-08) and has had great experiences. Sherwood isn't immune to typical (although unfortunate) high school behavior like locker room talk, etc but overall I think it's a great place!

My Son transfered from out of state during his Sophmore year at the height of his all-time popularity. Our biggest concern with the move was him beign the outsider during critical social years. We thought the Football team would provide the friendship/unity/network that he experienced at former school. No such thing. What really helped him was the caring teachers and impressive selection of interesting classes! By mid-Junior year his social connections were mended with friendships found in challenging classes. Teachers were very caring in recognizing our concerns. Being new to the community I recognized long-established friendships, since many of these kids have known one another since grade school. Counselor assured me that the kids were accepting of new comers due to recent growth of the city. That too helped. Extreme white bread community. My son detected diversity intolerance in football locker talk.

The school is lacking in cultural diversity. If your kids love sports they will love this school. If not they will feel isolated.

Sherwood has a very good community base - parents that are very involved - a few teachers that really care, many that don't - and are more focused on how much tax money they can get than how they can help your children. Very weak in special programs, strong parent support of sports activities.
