After 4 years, we're going to call it quits. The other posts are correct: Good CYO sports progams, but for the education: it's very strict, the administrators are mean to the children (they have actually threatened to cancel field trips!) , and the facilities are old, old, old. The boys bathroon, for instance, is rusty, smelly and has had all three latrines broken and taped off for several years now. The carpet is literally turning into dust. Morale among the staff seems low. Our children deserve better.
Academically the school is strong however, the teachers and staff are totally disconnected with the parents and most often downright rude. The environment is very stiff and uncomfortable. This is our second year at this school there will not be a third.
St. Anthony's is a strong school both academically and administratively. The teachers strive to provide excellent academic instruction to students of all levels and work with parents to ensure student success. Both the teachers and the administration work diligently to sustain a strong Christ-based curriculum that emphasizes accountability and repsonsibility for its students. We have been quite happy with St. Anthonys School as has our son. Although the curriculum is challenging for him, he doesn't want to be anywhere else. He loves it at St. Anthonys!
St. Anthony's is okay. It's very good with fun extracurricula activities and discipline. This school is one of the popular schools in the Archdioceses of Portland. They probably have the best gym a school could ask for. The CYO program is great for kids who love to play basketball, volleyball, jumprope, football, and swimming! I highly recommend this school.
This school could be so great, but with the current administration it will stay the same. Parent involvement is great for the earlier grades, but after the parents are exposed to the administration after a year or 2, they give up. The higher grades parents are pretty much MIA.
St. Anthony's has caused me a lot of pain, though the pain has been brought on from longing for this school. It brought me together with some of the most amazing people. The teachers were overall fabulous, and I am happy to have been at St. Anthony's for the short amount of time that I was.
