This school does not exist at the location indicated.... because the school is now a k-12 there are multiple issues due to the range of ages. Students have little to no opportunity to participate in classes other than the basics. The PTA decided to purchase a rock wall instead of adding equipment to assist with learning. Teachers are very complacent and the schools are failing to educate the students to the state level. When my daughter attended the teachers did not take responsibility for their actions but expected the students to. Teachers Coming to school drunk and loosing students homework is just a hint of what went on. In order to get the classes needed to graduate, my daughter was told to take classes thru PCC. Honestly, home schooling or moving them to another district would be better for the students here. We pulled out kids out of this school district and enrolled them in Hillsboro SD.
I believe in creating your own destiny and your experiences are what you make of them. This school is rural and does not have the troubles of a large school like gangs, violent crime, over-populated sports teams, mega classrooms, and the like. The teachers are some of the most qualified in the state. Soon they'll be in one of the most technologically advanced schools in the country.
Unfortunately, I was a student at Vernonia High School. Quite frankly, the quality of education was under par and the majority of students are unmotivated. Furthermore this school is not particularly racially diverse or sensitive. In addition, there are not many opportunities for intellectual growth. Overall my experience at Vernonia High School was unfortunate.
