I pulled my kids out because of the environment. I had 4 children going there and all of them had problems with bullies. When I reported it to the school nothing was done.
I am very pleased with the kindergarten program at this school. My son can now read sentences spell words. Its unbelievable the things he is learning at an early age.I recommend this school to anyone for your kindergartner to attend
Aliquippa Elementary is Beaver County's best kept secret. As a parent of a first grader beginning this fall, my daughter already is reading beyond a first grade level. Her test scores were in the top 4% in the nation. This is due to having teachers who take pride in their work and make sure that the children 'are not left behind'. The children of Aliquippa Elementary are 'quite ahead' of other elementary schools in the county as well as other elementary schools in the commonwealth of pennsylvania.
AES is working hard to ensure that the students are receiving a quality education. The amount of students per teacher ratio is excellent! The teachers are able to spend ample time with each student. There are many programs to help the students and the parents. The school is secure with many safety precautions that you may not find at other districts. My daughter enjoys going to school each day and excited to receive awards at assemblies for doing her reading homework. Just one example of how the school encourages good habits especially when it comes to doing homework. The administration and staff are doing a good job.
Aliquippa's website was quite usefule and informative. Strategies have been implemented to improve low test scores. The administration and staff seem concerned about academic achievement.
This is a school that does not get the credit it deserves. The faculty in this school really give the children thier best overall. The cirriculum is such that children are able to perform at their own individual level by having reading for the school at one time. The children are placed into an appropriate group with children on the same reading level regardless of grade level. They also hold reading award ceremonies every term for children who have a 90% or above in reading. The parents and family are invited to attend. They have opportunities for the children to participate in various programs and encourage expression through the arts. They have an active PTA and parents volunteer through out the year helping with events from Market Day to Santa's Workshop. Overall this is one of the best schools in the district.
