The JDS is not only providing my children with a great academic education, but also with a great community. I have two very different children with different learning and social needs. The teachers and administration are always accessible and respond quickly and effectively to problems. The school environment is a caring one, emphasizing the Jewish and human values of respect and responsibility. We've had children in the school now for 6 years, and while there have been the regular ups and downs that affect all institutions, the community pulls together to make the JDS a very good and special place.

Don't send you child here! My child attended JDS for 4.5 years, and each year it got worse. Several of the teachers who completely undermined my child's self confidence, many of whom were protected by the administration, are now gone due to "various reasons", however during our time there the administration never lifted a finger solve the problem. My son was an A/B, and sometimes C (in Hebrew) student and yet was consistently told he was unintelligent and constantly picked on by teachers. Yet one wonders how he got A's & B's. My son has a mild form of inattentive ADHD, mainly showing up in lack of organization, however he was so isolated and denigrated by the teachers there that he'd come home in tears many days, and seemed to be growing to dislike himself, think he was "stupid" etc., all because the school let it happen, did not support him, and actively worked to undermine his self confidence. The doctor who diagnosed our son said that above all the environment was, and I quote, "toxic". She had administered questionnaires testing not just my child, but his teachers and the environment. My son is a straight A student now in cyber school with NO accommodation. Don't go to JDS!
