Hosack Elementary School

We went through some rough times last year. My granddaughter lost her daddy last year in a car accident. The teachers and staff at Hosack were so supportive to our family. The students and their families were also so kind. This was our girl's kindergarten year, and everyone helped to make sure she got through that first important year as best a possible. A great school with open classrooms. The staff are open and friendly. The children there are well behaved and they have high IQ's.

We feel their spending too much time on the social type information, instead of math, reading and science.

I have to say that my 6 years at Hosack were some really great years! I graduated in the 5th grade class of 2002. It's one of the best Elem. schools in all of NA! The 5th grade teachers were awsome! The lunch and recess staff could use some work, but over all, the teachers were really great. The music program was pretty good. Orchestra and Chorus were a lot of fun! I wasn't involved in sports, but they had some intramural opportunities. However, no inner-scholastic sports. The Talent Show is mostly just 3rd graders dancing to Backstreet Boys. It's quite funny, really. I hope this review come in use if you're looking to move to Hosack! - Alumness
