Small school, K-2. No special education programs available at this school. Special Education students must attend Northwestern Primary School, the other primary school in the Blackhawk district. No academic gifted program. The curriculum is good for average kids, but not for those who excel. Lots of extracurricular sports are available, but no other types of extracurricular activities.
This being my first experience with the public school system, I have found this to be a very good school. The parents have a strong participation program and the teachers and staff encourage their input. The average class size is 20 pupils, so the children receive an above average interaction with the teacher. What I like best is the building houses only K-2. And, the children that ride the bus are only transported with these grade levels. I find that to be a huge piece of mind. I strongly recommend this school.
