I went to this school district and graduated in 2007. If you want your child to be challenged by their work and excel with fantastic grades and have their own opinion, this is not the district for you. Some of the 'college prep' courses are good, like the English classes, but others, like any of the math classes, are lacking. The science courses are great, but the social studies courses are, again, lacking. Though I will say that if you intend to raise your child in this district from kindergarten to graduation, you won't know the difference, and neither will your child. But if you transfer to this district from a better one anytime after the third grade, your child will be a year ahead of the rest of the students.

Not so sure about the 'bragging', only that I pay taxes to fund this school, the students there to learn need actual real life items, not sports related items, absurd programs, arts are needed, the focus is not on education, it is currently on atheltics and an overpaid school board salary system, which should be definitely reworked, in a way that makes it best for all students to learn what is truly needed in regards to a proper education.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing, science and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
