The majority of our experiences with the Bellefonte Elementary School have involved teachers who look the other way and show limited to no accountability. While the vice-principal is highly engaged in his duties, the principal lacks consistency, integrity, and a high ethical standard. There is a frightening lack of communication between the school and parents and no sign of any improvement. The educational programs are also disappointing and not challenging our children. Everything about BES from the extra-curricular activities to the holiday concert screams dysfunction and chaos. The testing scores reflect the entire perspective experience. I suggest if relocating to find housing outside of the Bellefonte Elementary school. Benner and Pleasant Gap are in the same district and have much better scores.
It is very sad that our school has some of the lowest psea test rates. More parent/teacher communication is must needed.
