Profile Completeness

INTERMEDIATE

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

It's a very educational place. there is bullying but that happens in every school no matter what. Every students learns advanced things nd there is no ap classes so everyone learns everything. It is pretty strict nd I have been here since kindergarten me nd my parents love it. The teachers care and it's a good school. I hope others will enjoy as much as I do.

With the turnover in staff it has become less a learning environment and more a playground with big bullies. The young teachers are inexperienced and it shows! The older yeachers seem tired. I have witnessed first hand thw bullying of bigger kids to smaller kids.

We are new to the school and it has been nothing but a great transition. I called over the summer months with questions and had quick responses. I am very impressed & nothing impresses me more than to see happy kids at the end of a school day!

I was very disappointed in the counseling that my son received from the school guidance counselor in dealing with a problem. He was basically told to "deal with it". I found this to be very callous and unprofessional.

This is my son's first year at School Lane and it is just amazing!!! We are so proud of his achievements academically and socially. He has transformed into a kid that dreaded going to school and is now the kid that looks forward to being there! The faculty and staff is so caring and they work so hard in the car line every morning to make sure your child safely enters the building and that means so much considering that tragic events that have unfortunately occured within our schools. A special thanks to Mrs. Krause for making third grade so great! You are an exceptional teacher and my son speaks highly of you. Highest recommendations for School Lane Charter School.

I have 2 children that attend SLCS. I love it & my kids love it! The teachers are 2nd to none & I am extremely proud to be a part of the SLCS community. With all the emphasis on bullying & the prevention of it, parents should know that education about bullying isn't limited to school. I am involved with my children. I talk to them, I teach them at home about respect, honesty, & consideration of others. Bullying doesn't take place because the teachers or administration just let it happen. Bullying is an issue all over because there are parents that are NOT involved with their children. Not only are they NOT involved, but they do not want to take responsibility for their problematic, disruptive children in the first place. They want to blame it on someone else. Shame on you. Teach your kids some manners & respect. Show some discipline at home & maybe we wouln't have bullying issues in any school. If you DO take responsibility for your child, then BRAVO to you! Keep up the good work & encourage your child/children to continue to be "the better person".

My ONLY complain is THE BULLYING IS TAKEN SO LIGHTLY. I'm tired of my kids coming home upset and crying. I feel like the school should disciple better. Especially after the rise in bullying suicide. I WONT LET IT GET THAT FAR!!!

My son is in Kindergarten and I feel that they do a great job. It is a little hard because the teachers do not communicate to the parents as much as his daycare did, but I guess that is because they are to busy.

My children went to this school for a couple of years. I decided to take them out of SLCS after my child was being bullied over and over again. I talked to the school about it and they said they would handle it but it just continued. I called again to discuss it and they said it would be handled but it continued some more. This school always talks about the anti-bully policy they go by but it is not the case. I would like my children to go to school to learn and not have to deal with these issues on a daily basis.

We are very happy with our decision to send our 2 children to SchoolLane Charter. Our 7th grader and 2nd grader are doing very well here. They've attended since kindergarten. They are learning to work hard doing the homework and projects which seem to be pretty time consuming at times. But as a working parent, I realize that nothing is going to come easy for our children, and moving on to high school and college has its own challenges. So the amount of work they do and learning time management now will better prepare them for the real world. I believe the teaching staff is very talented and the support staff is very helpful. Least we forget, parental input at home and through volunteer hours as well, we can make this a caring environment work better for all of our kids. I'm proud to say my children attend SLCS.

I've been a SLCS parent since the very beginning(1998). I think the school is a great learning environment. But, I do feel that they lack very seriously with disciplinary actions against bullying. They need to crack down more in this department.

I've been a student at SLCS for nine years (since kindegarten) and I have to say it was all the worth while. I'm in my final stages of this school, and I have to say, I'm going to miss it all. I guess as a student, I couldn't wait to get out of here, but when I think about it, this school really brought me and my classmates into a family. We really work well together, and at the same time, learn so much academically. If something could change, I think middle school should not only switch teachers, but the students in the class. This way, the students get used to 49 kids instead of 24. The teachers are great. Sure, they seem mean, but they are doing their best to make sure we get a good education. I will miss this school terribly, and I will come back and visit.

Our family has been part of the School Lane Community since 2001 and I can honestly say, without hesitation, that we could not have picked a better school for our children. The teachers are remarkable and their care and dedication to EVERY student is unmatched. Our children have truly been blessed to be part of this wonderful learning environment. The only thing that would make this school better would be 9th-12th grades! Thank you School Lane Charter School! Keep up the great work! The Bailey Family

I am a student at School Lane Charter School (SLCS) and I have to admit that I really appreciate it. I don't like the way the school is run sometimes, but as an 8th grader that's the way of life. Anyway, I love the fact that I get a good education in a comfortable environment. SLCS is a wonderful school and I do recommend that many people look into it and try to get your children in.

My daughter has attended this school since kindergarten and is now enerting the 8th grade. My husband & I have been very happy about our decision to send her to this charter school.. Yes, the school has been through many changes, but I as a parent choose to get involve and stay involed. With the quaility of education she has receiv we feel as though she will suceed no matter what high school we choose to send her to upon her graduation from School Lane. Over the years we have found the principal, teachers & support staff to be activitly involved with the students. There have been some rough times, but I have seen issues addressed, and changes made!

My daughter has been attending school lane since kindergarten ( she's in sixth grade now ) and I can honestly say I have loved all of her teachers. They get better and better every year. Yes the school has een through alot of changes over the years but the school is still very new. They are building and growing and learning what works and what doesnt. As far as fighting and bullies that happens everywhere. And I just dont think its that common at school lane , at least according to my daughter. And as for preparing them for middlre school what school has spanish in grade school? Or this much diversity and tolerance. Anyway just wanted to give my opinion. By the way, I always see Mrs. Shcade every time I go in there, shes at all the events.

I like some things about the school, but there are some major disappointments as well. If you're looking for a child/parent friendly school, this may not be the choice for you. In my experience with dealing with child/parent/teacher issues, the administration(principal/disciplinarian) has always sided with the teacher.

I love this school. My son has Mrs. Wallover, who I think is the best kindergarten teacher they have this year. Mrs. Jacoby is a great support in the class. My son has also received speech therapy with wonderful results so far thanks to Mrs. Caniglia. I am so thankful that the teachers are so caring and compassionate. My only concern would be how some of the older students treat the staff, and the lack of discipline. I do believe these things are being addressed and will get better. I would like to thank all the staff for the hard work they do.

I absolutely love School Lane, The only flaw that I have noticed is the lack of disciplinary action in the case of a child bullying or disrupting other class mates. I truly hope this can be fixed before this wonderful learning facility is ruined by the lack of consequences that unruly students face. This is unfair to the rest and majority of students who are there to learn and enjoy the school environment. I really like the principle however I feel that she is the one to make the difference and so far has not done so.

I only have good things to say about School Lane. My daughter's teacher Mrs. Shuster, who she has had for both kindergarden and first grade has been wonderful. Mrs Beth Shuster has such dedication to the children, her teaching is great and when you stop in the children are always polite and well behaved. She has alot of patience and makes every child feel special, she shows interest in them and the children love her. I hope the up coming years are just as great at School Lane. The Walsh Family

School Lane started out great it had a great staff and a very dedicated principle. Sadly the board replaced that principle due to personal issues. The school has been consistantly going down hill since. The lack of discipline is so frustrating,I have seen a kid kick another kid in the groin so hard that he fainted and was foaming at the mouth, nothing was done. This kid was back in school the next day. Most of the great original staff was either not invited back or just left due to all the changes and now we are left with some teachers who have little to no patience or are just there until something better comes along. Almost all the original families that started with the school have pulled their children and put them back in public school. The principle is locked in her office 24/7. Maybe if she opened the the door she would know whats going on!

Herbert Hoover School in Langhorne is a great school. The teachers (at least the ones I have dealt with) were great. They have an awsome PTO and they work so hard for this school. We have never had a problem and I would say the extracurricular activities outshine other schools 10 fold.

This is the best school my children have been to. My daugther in 7th grade switched in 5th grade from Saint Anselm's and enjoys it and learns much more. My son is in kindergarten and is giving the special atention he needs. Their grades are above averange from the learning they get. One of my daughter's daily subjects is spanish which is remarkable. Some of their special subjects are music where they learn how to play the keyboard, fine arts, and P.E. They also have a large computer lab and wonderful libary. This is the greatest school a kid can go to.

The Middle School Curriculum is lacking basic background to prepare students for high school. Teachers are typically young and inexperienced with little classroom management skills. My children have transferred out, I expected them to graduate from School Lane prepared to face the next steps.

I really like the enviroment of School Lane. I think the teachers really care about the student's progress. However, there is quite a bit of problem students that disrupt the classroom making it hard for serious students to focus.

This school is wonderful the staff is excellent and welcoming to all students old and new. The children are respectful to each other and welcoming to new students. I know this first hand because my child started in mid school year and she felt very comfortable. everyone accepted her with no problems. I am very happy that my children go to this wonderful school.
