This is a fabulous school that understands the contemporary need for education that is child centered and responsive to the different learning styles of all children. My son loves going to school and can't wait each morning to see his friends and learn new things.

Our experience at this school was negative. We were dissappointed in the academics and the peer interaction. Overpriced for what is available in the area.

Both our kids went to Oak Lane Day School, and we loved it. They were well prepared for a competitive independent school after graduation. Unlike some schools, learning feels joyful and fascinating daily. Extremely talented faculty. A hidden gem.

I just can't say enough about how GREAT Oak Lane is! Oak Lane Day School is a gem! The teachers are all extremely good quality, the program is challenging and offers great opportunities for enrichment. The students graduate well-prepared for either private or public high schools. Also, it's conveniently located, close to Chestnut Hill and Mount Airy as well as Montgomery County towns.

Oak Lane Day School has allowed my child to enjoy all the beauty of nature. He has also performed experiments, with in depth understanding. My child, who has not written many reports, has grown in his writing skills of writing reports. This is a school which allows freedom to grow in various areas, while seeking to educate your child. Oak Lane also provides many activities, from drama, to sports, to knitting to bring out your child's creativity and interests. If you are looking for a school that allows this and treats your child as a growing individual, by allowing creative responsibilities, Oak Lane Day School is the school for you.

I can't imagine a better environment for a child to grow into self-discovery as well as appreciation of others. Literally everyone - faculty, staff, and head of school - takes a personal interest in every child and family, and works to help each student reach full potential. The science and art programs deserve special mention, and everything about this school was tops. My daughter graduated well prepared to enter middle school at another independent school with high academic standards. If you value education this is the place for your child!

My kids had a great experience at Oak Lane, with teachers who knew them well, challenged them, and taught to their strengths and their weaknesses. They had diverse groups of children in their classes and since the school is small, they had to learn to deal well with all different types of kids. The sense of community is strong, and we have remained close to classmates and teachers since my children graduated. They were very well prepared with a rigorous curriculum, and have been very successful in the independant school that they now attend.

Oak Lane was great. The problem with Oak Lane now is that instead of trying to have the weird, annoying, socially challenged children adapt and become more likable, Oak Lane (and the principal especially) tries to make the normal happy children adapt to the weirdos. While I believe it is great to have individuality and diversity, I don't think that bullies should be catered to which is what Oak Lane does. This school has gone downhill and things are not looking up.

As a product of very good public schools, I had a natural bias to a private school. Our oldest daughter attended the PreK3-4 program, and is now in the Kendergarden program. While we have been working with her on her numbers and letters in the past year, what I saw blossom in her was her creative sprit and her ability to imagine and communicate. We found the teachers to be invovled with the kids, and also found the teachers to be assessable and open about issues, both positive and negative. My daugheters will go to this school as long as we live in the area.
