My son is in 1st grade at the school. After last years redistricting the student to teacher ratio is much better. There has been a housing boom in the area. While we disagree on how some subjects are taught ie math, it seems to be working for our son. Communication with your child's teacher is the key. Our son was blowing thru his math homework and a quick email the teacher increased the amount of homework and difficultly of it. The school is a little dated but then after the Parkland HS was built it makes all schools look dated.

We just moved in from Puerto Rico on a job transfer and my daughter is attending second grade. The quality of teacher- student interaction and parental involvement is excellent. The school communicates with the family on a weekly and, sometimes, daily basis. My child is very well-cared for and there hasn't been a security issue. There are two things that I don't like: (1) that there are very few after-school activities and none of them are physical-activity/ sports-related and (2) everything that my daughter is learning now, especially in math and English, she already learned in first grade. Granted, she is doing higher levels of thinking, but the material is definitely not new for her. I wish that there was more individualization in the classroom.

My son is in Kindergarten. His teacher is excellent. She is very nice and intelligent. My son learned things that I didn't learn until first grade or so. He reads so good. It's unbelievable. I love this school!
