We have had kids at Center Township Elem. for the last 8 years and counting and I have a lot of issues with it. The principle is horrible! We have had some major issues with him and have even had to go above him to administration to get problems resolved. I also hate the color system they have for the higher grades. They divide children by their grades and teach them all different based on how smart they think they are. It doesn't help students and actually causes some ridicule. There are also a few major security issues there. Considering homeschooling this year for sure.

THe one problem that I have with this school is that the PSSA Testing is over emphazied. The children spent way to much time learning how to take this test. If the teachers are teaching the curriculum then the children should pass the PSSA. We need to stop teaching the test. Yes we are scoring high but thats because the kids spend a month and half learning the test. Teach the curriculm and then give the test that would be true measure if we are making AYP. I am tried of my kid coming home with tons and tons of PSSA homework. Just teach the curriculm.

This is the BEST elementary school in the area, perhaps even Western Pennsylvania. This school is very parent friendly no matter who you are and the principal and teachers are the best staff around! This is my sons last year there...he will be moving up to the Junior High and he has had the time of his life at CT and as a parent, I can't wait to do it all over again with my younger ones.

The amount of homework my *th grader is coming home with is ridiculous. They have the kids so focused on the PSSA tests, teaching them how to take tests, they're not teaching the kids academic materials they should be covering in depth-just enough to pass the tests, so my *th grader who went from making A-B's last year, goes to making C's and D's. I feel like I've picked up a part time job, doing homework almost every night (2-3 hrs) and in preparing for tests that my child would obviously fail without my help. This school is also not parent friendly and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The school does have a terrific music program.

Best time of my life. Just graduated from CT last year. Sure, the homework load gets a little heavy at times, but nothing a kid shouldn't be able to handle. Not so much the education that makes it a good school; the students and memories created is what makes this the best school ah-mazing, especially in 6th grade. As for teachers; most are nice. Make sure ya recommend who you'd like to have, you'll be a lot happier that way. (:

Center Township is a great school and as a parent i am very happy my kids go there. The most important thing is education for our children now and in the future. This school does not let their kids slack off and they make them put their minds to good use, that is what we need for the next generation. Times are changing and education is the key ingredient now and Center Township is the key ingredient!

This is truly the best elementary school in Butler Area School District. I have a special needs child and she is treated no different here than any other student. The principal is top notch. The entire teaching staff has class. 'no pun intended'. The elementary school prior to Center Township was the worst. I feel bad that my child cannot go to Center Township until 12th grade. The Principal at Center Township deserves an award for being the best of the Best. Go Center Townsip your rock!!!!!!!!!
