I'm in 7th grade at Wilson. I think its a really good school..most of the people who already wrote reviews said that a lot of people needed tutors. That is SO WRONG. If you try you can get somewhere in life. Over half the people on my team have distinguished honor roll...we are doing very well and we do learn what we need to. I like the idea in math we got worksheets instead of text books. I dont want to carry 6 books home each night. Also, you can always go on the website and look at the online book. I get straight A's in every subject because i put my time and effort into it. Some people dont. Its not the school that gives you bad grades, its yourself. Wilson is always there to help. :)

I am a student of Wilson middle school. I am a 8th grade and i was in this school for 6 grade and 7th grade.Students in Wilson are improving more and more everyday with the help of the teachers. We would be nothing without their help and support..Wilson middle school is the best middle school because everyone there is caring and helpful. The teachers tries their best to get all student get 'A'. The homework they give us helps the most because they teach us something and gives us homework. We understand it better when we do it by ourself and the best part is we get credit for trying. If we get something wrong they also give us extra help..Wilson is the 'Best' school ever..

I do not understand the grading policy of the school. How can a test and quiz be on the same importance level. The homework does not seem to really give the children the mastery of what they are supposed to be doing. Overly large amount of children seem to be needing tutoring as the teachers move forward before ensuring the children master the curriculum. The teachers seem to focus on standardized testing and studying for them. The standardized test should not be studied for they should test what the child knows. I'm concerned to see that the children do not use the text books. The homework is given on worksheets that seem like they belong in elementary school. Teachers focus on being 'friends' with students vs being there teachers. Homework counts if the student 'tries' a parent can sign off on the homework and receives credit.

i enjoyed going to wilson. The principal was great. I am not so fond on the grading system.I think POD is kind of dull. They should mix up the classes. The kids hate it. Overall I think Wilson is an Opreety good school school.

Overall, I give Wilson Middle School a B-. They have a confusing 6-day cycle, alternating 'pod' (academic courses) with 'AE' (academic enrichment). AE takes place in the LGI room (large group instruction). The name gives that away. Several classes join together for a lesson (usually a movie, often a crossword puzzle.) It is very noisy and often a complete waste of time, depending on the teacher supervising. Students do not get to choose electives. They offer only a few sports. Most importantly for us, the school does not provide strong support for students in the 504 program. The teachers did follow my child's accomodations, but they have never heard of Content Mastery. There is no set grading policy so assignment weights can vary widely. I have no complaints about the teachers. Most seemed very pleasant and competent. However, many program and policy changes are needed.
