They are very accomodating of special needs children. The atmosphere is always pleasant and caring. The course work is challenging and always foccused on the individual childs' needs.

I feel that Sheckley Elementary is a fair school overall. I feel that they fall short and challenging their students. I feel that the goal of progressing a student's education a full year beyond where they started is mostly ignored. Personally I would discourage families from moving into this district if they are looking for a strong student focused, not adult focused, community and district.

Excellent school. Principal has some great ideas that will make this school even better! Teachers are all excellent. My kids love going to school and look forward to going everyday.

Sheckler has no advanced curriculum for kids that are gifted. The gifted program they have is a light program, it does not hold a gifted childs interest, and the gifted children are not challenged in this enviroment.

I think sheckler school is an excellent school. They have great teachers and they really seem to care about their students and their safety.

I had two children go to this school before moving away. My children enjoyed and looked forward to going to school. They learned a great deal at this school. They have exceptional teachers. I've seen how some of the teachers teach their classes. They have great teaching methods. They know how to keep the students attention. My children did very well in this school, and I thank the teachers they had for that. I would recommend this school to anyone. Sheckler is a great school.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing, science and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles.
