CAMS has been the bane of our family's existence since day one. Prior to entering 6th grade, my child excelled in her studies, loved school, and was extremely social. To see a child like this do a complete 180 in less than a year is frightening, to say the least. Since starting at CASD, her grades have slipped to the point that she may very well have to repeat 6th grade. She has become introverted. Her documented medical and learning issues have been consistently ignored by school personnel. Most teachers are slow to contact parents regarding a problem until it is too late to step in and fix it. They fail to listen to concerns and, when concerns are raised, the child is marked as a 'problem student' with 'combatant parents.' If you have the means, do not settle for the mediocre 'education' offered at CAMS!!

My child has an IEP. He is consistently bullied by students AND physical education teachers (still works there) The teasing has escalated to physical harm 4 times this year and there were 2 incidents last year. Academically, the school work is not at all challenging at all and my child is an average student. A charter school would be the way to go.

My child is in the sixth grade 'overflow' group. Their field trip is five miles away at the local potato chip factory. There have been NO parent teacher conferences, and I have ran into a teacher -- with my daughter, and the teacher did not even know her name!

Teacher quality is poor. The teacher to student ratio is about 30 students to 1 teacher. There are no extracurricular activities. There is no communication to the parents. I wasn't even told about an early dismissal. My student wasn't either. I learned about it from another parent later in the evening. There is no parental involvement. I tried to have a conference with my child's teachers. Only 2 teachers showed up each time. He has at least 6 different teachers.

The teacher and staff do so much for these students to make them feel comfortable in school let alone the parents sending them to school, overall the school is fantastic.

Cams Is A 'Okay School' As Long As That Y'all Have A 'Problem Child' And Have A Child That Is Wanting To Be The 'Class Clown' ! My Child Was An 'A And B' Student Until He Had Started At Cams In 2007... He (Our Son Now A 7th Grader) Always With Coments On How The Class Size Is Always With To Many Students (26 - 30 +). As Well As That The Teachers Have No Time For A 'One On One' To Be Teaching The Kids The Skills That Allow To Their Grades To Excel. I've Been Very 'Displeased' About How Our Son Has Been 'Degraded As A Person' At Cams' . This School Is 'Hot' To 'Find Reasons For Giving Demits' As For Having An 'Off Campus Subspensions' (Which) Talks Away Class Room Studies And Causing A Student Falling Behind,Leading To A Lowered Grade In Grades There... I Would'nt Recomend This School !

I think CAMS is a worderful school, both my daughters have enjoyed their time there, my one child needs to be challenged and she has been, and my other child needs just a little more attention and she received it. The teachers are great, they really do get to know their students. I think it says alot about a school when your children have perfect attendence and when asked how their day at school was, I always get a good response.

I think everyone at this school is doing a great job keeping the kid busy and keeping them out of trouble.
