I am currently a student at GOH on my 9th year, and to be honest i can't wait to leave. k-5 was fine but once we got to the middle school we were expecting more freedom, more clubs to join, and more challenging academics. Were we wrong. They dont let us walk to our own lunchroom without having to be escorted by a teacher, we still take childish sujects such as reading and spelling class, and the only clubs our school has to offer is book club, service club, golf club, and chess club. Fun. The only reason you might hear that GOH is a challenging school is because they pound us with tests and homework. We have been going thru the same material in social studies for 3 years now and that IS ridiculous. Science and Spanish are a joke.. I do not feel perpared for highschool at all.

I had 2 children go through the grade school and middle school. The teachers were kind and helpful, caring and accessable. Each teacher knows the children and parents by name. The support staff is fabulous, always helpful. I was able to drop my kids off and feel confident that they were entering a caring, nuturing and academically challenging environment. Kudos to the teachers and administration! Thank you for 9 wonderful years!

I am thrilled with my child's educational experience at GOH. The curriculum includes all the basics with plenty of challenging material. Values, manners and respect for others adds to it all. The art projects are creative and the children learn about different artists every year. There is always an open door with the teachers and the principal. Great non competitive start to all gym classes in the form of high energy, fun dance steps to popular music. Special accalades for Mrs. Lyons who is patient, understanding and amazing!

My son attended Gate of Heaven School from Kindergarten through 8th grade. I have nothing but positive things to say about his experience at Gate of Heaven. He's currently excelling in high school thanks to the strong academic foundation he received at Gate. What matters most to me, however, is the Christian values that form the foundation of Gate of Heaven School. Not only did he receive a quality education, he also learned what it means to be a kind, caring person. If you're looking for a school that will nurture your child academically, spiritually and emotionally, then I would strongly encourage you to visit Gate of Heaven School. Another thing I truly appreciated was how the school welcomed parents into their community, recognizing the vital role that parents play in their child's education. I would recommend this school to any prospective parent without hesitation.

We have had children in Gate of Heaven School continuously for the past several years. It is a loving, caring environment; the student body is a family. The administration combines compassion with high standards and high work ethics. Students are pushed to reach their potential in all areas of the curriculum and extra curricular activities. They are given the assistance they need to reach these potentials. Safety is of the utmost concern to all parents; our children feel safe at Gate of Heaven School, and we feel safe entrusting them to the staff. The security system and emergency procedures are intact, and teachers, aides and administration are well aware of their students' family circumstances. The quality of education is unsurpassed. We have been told repeatedly by high school teachers, that Gate of Heaven students who advance to their institutions are well versed, have organized work habits, and are community minded.

My family has been affiliated with Gate Of Heaven for the past 4 years. I have two children that attend the school and think that both are not only excelling in academics but are also learning valuable lessons in life. I volunteer in the cafeteria and it amazes me how well behaved and polite the students are here. Each member of the staff treats the children with the respect and kindness that they would give their own kids.We are elated to have such an exceptional school so close to home.

I have three children at GOH--in the preschool, Kindergarten and elementary school programs--and I am very impressed with the educational quality, the professionalism of the faculty and administrators, and the numerous opportunities for student enrichment and extracurricular activities (even Kindergarten basketball and bowling!) Teachers and staff are very approachable and have always addressed my concerns in a professional, compassionate, confidential and timely manner-for example, in determining my young 5-yr. old's Kindergarten readiness; in working with a shy and timid middle child; and in calming my fears about my child feeling excluded because we are of a different faith. As non-Catholics, we pay a higher tuition and we find the exceptional education and nurturing environment is well worth the price! The school is very secure--all doors are locked and video surveillance/intercom systems monitor visitor access. GOH provides, hands down, the best early childhood and elementary education available in the Back Mountain!

Gate of Heaven offers clear learning objectives and assures that these are met at each grade level by each student. Teachers take a personal interest in pupils and their families. Parental involvement is encouraged at every opportunity - during classes, after-school activities, lunch and recess, and at Mass. Good music and computer curricula. Preschool program is outstanding, lots of educational field trips and meaningful holiday celebrations. After-school extension program supports needs of working parents. Annual auction to benefit school programs allows parents to bid on personalized class craft items that have been created by their children, raising money for the school and encouraging parents to get to know each other and create a more supportive community. Children are always under the watchful eye of attentive teachers and involved parents. A great environment for young children.
