I have seen my share of schools, and I can tell you that if given the choice I would NEVER go back to Penn Wood. First, Penn Wood looks and feels more like a prison than an actual school - barred windows, high fences, and not the greatest location. The students are disrespectful and care nothing about getting a meaningful education. The students even bragged about how they made a male substitute teacher cry. The staff came off as disorganized, rude, and appeared to only concern themselves with disciplining students rather than the actual learning process.

This school was a wonderful experience for me. Despite the location, I got a great education and was prepared for high school. The staff did an exellent job in making my middle school experience a great one.

I am an advance student of this school and I've been in this school district since 5 it's an ok school district. Not the best but not the worst. I'm in the middle school and there are good teachers who do care about the student.

I am also a parent of a child that has an IEP and this school district falls short, especially in the middle school years, of providing the level of qualified and knowledgable personnel to help implement IEP based on current NCLB and IDEA regulations. It would benefit us parents to become more unified in demanding better processes with teachers who are HQ and hve the child's best interest in heart to actually implement and execute the plan so that it works and helps the child succeed.

This school and school district does not have your child's best interest in mind. I'm still waiting for changes to an IEP for three months to no availe.

This is a school where you have to question how much learning could possibly take place because you first concern has to be your safety.
