I think there must be a few parents with an axe to grind. This school is top notch. I have two children who attend this school. The programs are advanced and well-taught. The teachers have access to technologies like class quia websites that give parents calendars of assignments, displays of work, and links to more educational site so that kids can practice math problems at home. I think the principal is heavily involved and deals with matters of discipline immediately. This is a tough school with a rigorous program. The school additionally provides resources if your child falls behind for any reason....and additional programs if your child appears to excel beyond the norm. All in all, we are very pleased with Cold Spring. This is a tough school and the expectations are high!

I disagree & think my kids are getting an excellent education. I've never been turned away from helping in the classroom. I think the level of security is necessary to keep our kids safe. Council Rock is overcrowded & taxes are higher!

I agree that the parents are not teaching basic manners and are more interested in being in the building. I also feel that there is too much of a kids will be kids attitude from the administration and that social emotional growth is not a priority. The academics are not that rigorous and the parents are expected to bring the kids up to the desired level, the teachers do not do a good job at challenging students or being creative - too many dittos/worksheets. The reputation is deceptive and I do not think the district is as good as its reputation. It has also been very difficult to get informatioin from the administration about school events such as assemblies, etc. It's like they are trying to keep parents away, but at the same time still ahve too many Home School Assoc. people wandering the building. Go south to Council Rock.

I think the parents are not involved in the proper way. They seem more interested in benigin the building, instead of having their children properly prepared for class and teaching them some basic manners/acceptable behavior.

CSE has an amazing parent volunteer system that the school utilizes well. The school is large but well run. The expectations for student achievement is very high and faculty and parents bear a heavy burden maintaining these high standards. The school is as good as those who are involved in it's day to day workings. The kids benefit from the hard work of the volunteers and teachers. I hope it can remain a top tier school.

We love this school. We have experience of both the gifted and special needs programs and they are second to none. Condisering the number of students, it has a small school feel and the principal does a good job knowing all of his students.

Cold Spring meets/exceeds the high standards known across the Central Bucks school district. The extracurricular activities are band and orchestra. The parental involvement level is very high with parent volunteers working in classrooms on a daily basis, heading up reading response groups, and volunteering on the playground. There has been a fair amount of teacher turnover, but still there are several great teachers at each grade level to compensate for the younger ones who move or go out on maternity leave. The school spirit is high and it is a great learning environment. The gifted program could use some improvement, it is a pull-out program, but has been inconsistently run over the years. The district strives to bring all students to a good level, but this does leave the very bright students not as challenged as they could be.
