We have sent our two daughters to Doyle for three years now and they have done very well at this school. The teachers have been great so far. They are knowledgeable, professional and they communicate with the parents on a regular basis. They know their students and tailor the instruction according to their needs. We are quite impressed with this school. The principal runs a tight ship and we are quite pleased with our daughters' experience so far. There is also a great sense of community at this school because of its smaller size.
I attended Doyle Elementary School in 1970 for k-6. I am now a first grade teacher in North Carolina and wanted to see the website to see what it is like now
The kids are the greatest! It is pure pleasure to come to work every day and see their eager, smiling faces! Love Doyle!
We have 2 children attending Doyle and the past 5 years have been a great experience. I've read too much criticism regarding the rules and code of conduct that quite frankly should be expected in all elementary schools. The school is small but the size is one of it's biggest assets. The principle and teachers know all the children and most of the parents. You feel a great sense of community. The Home and School is very active and has provided the school with upgrades in art, technology and even raised enough money to build a new playground when the original one was deemed unsafe. The principle has always been accessible and adequately involved with any issues I've had. She has done a tremendous job hiring highly qualified and gifted teachers. Most have gone out of their way to assist with making sure our children receive the best education possibl
Not happy with the principal. She seems more concerned about her numbers than the kids that may bring down her test scores.
This school is protected and can not be extended by law. The back to school night was great - room to sit in the hall, great information from the principle and home room teacher. My sons love this school.
The principal is cold and mean. The rules are closer to a prision than a place where young minds are molded. What the administrators here fail to remember is that these are kids not hardened criminals. Some of the teachers are also questionable, it was half way throught the year and I still had not heard from her. And forget about back to school night, the school is so tiny and overcrowded that it should be modified, however the principal, will not even consider an addition. She needs the extra budget money for a new car.
Doyle is run like a military operation. This is my third child so I have experience of other schools. The rules, regulations, and punishments are entirely unreasonable. The principal is rigid and condescending. Most staff are cold and unfriendly. [Children] are not allowed talk to each other during lunch and if they do they have to sit on a bench. The community school 'carers' yell rudely at the children in the yard through a loudspeaker. It is not a nurturing environment at all.
This school is fabulous. We have had the privilege of sending two children to Doyle for the last 4 years. The kids have loved each of their teachers, and the principal is terrific! Thanks to the Doyle teachers and staff.
We moved to this school in the middle of the school year and our chidren truly disliked the school. It has the smallest cafeteria I have ever seen. The school tried to ease the transiton with an ambassador program allowing an upper class student to show our children around, however 15 min in the morning did not make up for the challenges presented by the principal. On the other hand the teachers do seem to try hard may be in an effort to soften what challenges the principal does present. The school does have high academic standards and achievements. Some of this probably can be attriuted because of the principal's rigid rules and standards. Although our children did like the classes and teachers, my one daughter still longed to be back at her original elementaryschool in Warrington.
