Garrettford Elementary is one of the better schools in this very large district. Under the guidence of Mr. McAllister, Garrettford has managed to maintain a positive environment for students, teachers and staff. They work together to lay a foundation for a child's love of learning. Too bad this foundation can't be built upon once the child leaves Garrettford and move onto DH Middle School

This is a great school. The principal, Mr. McAllister, knows all the children by name. The teachers are fantastic, and there is strong parental and community involvement. The school's socio-economic diversity (which affects standardized testing scores, and therefore, the school's rating on this website) prepares children for the real world. The school teaches compassion, tolerance, and (gasp!) good manners!

My daughters attended Garrettford. The school promoted self confidence, diversity and compassion. One of my daughters graduated from Syracuse and the other from The University of Pennsylvania. And it all started at Garretford!

I must say I have never met such a bunch of nice people as I have at Garrettford. Both our sons went there our oldest has been out of Garrettford for over 9 years now and still talks about it our youngest is leaving 8th into 9th he never really mentions DHM except to say he is glad to be out of there mind you he always talks about Garrettford , Mr.Mcgallister, Mr. Welsh, and good ol Mr. Caldwel. They have left us with many good memories. Good Job! Be Proud

Two of my children are enrolled in Garrettford. My oldest is in 5th grade, having attended since 1st grade. She is already upset at the idea of leaving the school at the end of the year. The children love the teachers and the principal is WONDERFUL!!! I recommend this school highly. My children are loved and supported in not only their academics, but also their creativity.

My son has attended this school 1-3. Unfortunatley because we are moving this will be he last year attending Garrettford. This is a exceptional school. He has made many friends. When he struggled they made sure he got the help he needed. But he did so well he has grown into a very bright student. The teachers are very good. The Principle is excellent many awards he has recieved since he has been there.

This is another example of a wonderful school in the Upper Darby School District. Another beautiful building that has recently been updated. The staff and students are caring and respectful. They take pride in thier school. The education is first rate. The children are all on the path to success.
