St. Jane Frances De Chantal School

We transferred our children to St. Janes in grades 3 & 6. I can honestly say this has been one of the best decisions my husband and I have made for our kids! We really love this school!!

I have seen a few schools in my travels - three moves in four years. Saint Jane's is by far the best Catholic school I have experienced. It's an enviornment of learning in which values are taught as well as lived. The academic excellence is attested to by scores on standardized tests.

Both of my children currently attend St. Jane School and have done so since 3 year old Preschool. The faculty members are genuinely dedicated to the students. They offer an endless list of extra-curricular activities. The school offers "specials" for all grades K-8 (the preschoolers attend some of the specials too) such as Spanish, Art, Healthy, Library Skills, Gym, Computers, and Music. They offer have state of the art technology including interactive whiteboards, net books, digital projectors, on-line library, on-line grading system, on-line enrichment programs and more. It is a very safe, & nurturing environment that my children enjoy attending.

Our child went to Saint Jane's for one year. The cirriculum was stellar; however, the class size was very large and we felt this was a negative. Also, the school building is older and lacks a cafeteria and playground. The gymnasium is inadequate. The extracirricular activities are well established and there is a great deal of parental involvement. Leaving St. Jane's was a tough decision for us. There were many good things about it, especially the teachings of religious and moral values. In the end, however, we decided to move our child because we felt some important aspects were lacking, mostly in the school building itself.

A wonderful school which provides the continuity and comraderie that public schools can't do. St. Jane's has grades pre-k through 8th whereas the same grades in public school span at least three different schools. Teachers are wonderful and willing to work with parents. Besides academia [which st. Janes exceeds public school in standardized testing], St. Janes stresses the importance of good manners, personal responsibility, and christian values. Compare that to the easton public school system which prides itself on the fact that they provide a nursery and daycare for their students' children. Clearly, st. Jane's is the better choice.

My son spent a year at St. Janes and he was my first child to attend any school. I was raised Catholic, but I don't agree that in a Prorochial school, religion based education is necessary. Math should be math, and so on. There was little information that I could decipher without calling another parent or teacher to explain, from the oodles of paperwork sent home daily. I understand most of the work is volunteer, but this is another fine example of how our Government should get involved with privately run schools, so they run more efficiently and effectively. The Teachers on the other hand, are very sweet, but again, my son's academic potential wasn't tapped into to it's full capacity. He is a super-smart youngster whose pre-schooling got him more than ready for K. Some of his pre-education was just simply missed.

St. Jane's focuses on developing the student in all facets of their lives-spiritually, emotionally and physically so that they can achieve their academic potential so as to excel as the person that they are destined to be.
