I've had two children at Tracy and highly recommend it. The faculty is very responsive to parent/child needs. Resources are available immediately upon request. Class sizes seem to average 25 which I think is a bit high but the competent staff and addition of aides somehow make it work. My children have been quite successful due in part by the great foundation offered by Tracy Elementary.
Tracy Elementary school provided a wonderful foundation for my child. She is leaving 4th grade this year very well prepared for EAMS.
Tracy School is an outstanding educational institution. My son, who is now in 7th grade, was very well-prepared when he left Tracy to go to EAMS. The teachers are kind but firm, and very creative. I'm so happy that my son received such an exellent education at Tracy.
We moved to Tracy school from a school in Phillipsburg 2.5 years ago and were thrilled with everything about Tracy. I think the amount of parent involvement is wonderful. Mrs. Mulrine is the best teacher for students of any academic level she really shows them that they can achieve anything! The PTA at Tracy in terrific, they present many programs for the students and families throughout the year that are simply wonderful. Thank you to all the staff and PTA of Tracy Elementary School!
I have a 5th grader and a 2nd grader. This school has been amazing. The teachers are so wonderful. I think it's amazing how the principal is at every family function to greet the children and their families. I do agree with the other review that parental involvement is sometimes too much, as crazy at that sounds.
All three kids went to Tracy. They all had great experiences with the kids and teachers. The teachers are great. They only thing that I don't like about this school, is the parents. They are very clicky and they all seem to be competing with one another to see who's kids are better. I helped out in my kids classrooms as far as helping the teacher but I would never join PTA because of what goes on. I believe in parents participating in school activities, but sometimes they can get overbearing. When you have a party and each child has at least one parent there, it gets a little much.
My child has spent her entire public school career at Tracy Elementary. She will exit at the end of this year because unfortunately, Tracy only goes up to 4th grade. I sincerely wish we were on the old model, with elementary school covering the K-6th grade years because I'd love to have her spend another 2 years at Tracy. Hopefully, there won't be any redistricting between now and when our second child begins school because I would love for her to enjoy the same opportunities my first child experienced at Tracy. Please keep in mind that my review only involves one child who is quite bright. So my view is that of a parent who has not seen her child struggle with academics. In fact, the school has modified their normal operating policies to accomodate our requests for her. (It took some asking and some persistence, but it was attainable.) The staff is nurturing, flexible, and professional. The art and music programs are excellent. The regular academics are delivered in a variety of ways to reach children who have differing learnings styles. The school itself is clean, bright and safe. They have a fine athletic field as well as a nice gym. And at least for the years my daughter has been there (she 'graduates' fourth in 2004) we've found the children to be well-behaved. All told, I'd be hard pressed to find any big complaints about the school or the staff. As with any school, if something isn't going how you'd prefer, get involved and ask for changes. I know that in some cases, a school is so overwhelmed already that they couldn't possibly accomodate one more 'burden' but Tracy isn't one of those schools.
This is the best school in PA!All 3 of my children go there and they say its the best school they have ever been in!
