Last school year 2010-2011 my son attended this school in grade 5. The teachers, as well as the principal and others involved in educating him have proven to go above and beyond to reach the academic growth he has made the past year. I would love the classes to be a little bit smaller and have a little bit more information directed through the website or direct email. But further than that the communication was good.

The School Principal is More like a prison warden . education is of the lowest quality of any school seen you have too go through the run around to even speak too the principal Student are allowed too bully each other around with no regards. the victims themselves or punished by the school, as well as students who do the Bullying some teachers are great while others or just interns who lack the qualification too handle the distress situation some student get in how can you learn as a child if you costantly being picked on my other students and sometimes it is the teachers that allow the bullying too go on it self. bottom line Easton area middle school 5-6 is very unsatisfactory. overall it really is not the students themselves that are problematic but majority the staff. is the main problem a zoo poor record keeping falsifying student records including forging signatures of students the list goes on

What a difference a year makes. A child that attends this school should have a great group of friends already established in order to excel. Being that several elementary schools from different economic classes merge at this 5-6 campus, students are exposed to things that they may not have otherwise seen/heard. There are roughly 700 students per grade. While 5/6 and 7/8 are separated by doors/walls, they are transported on the same buses. Behavior issues naturally arise when combining these age groups in such settings. Is driving your child to school the answer? NO! But a good, long conversation with your child about good and bad behavior is highly recommended. While my daughter naturally excels and is not in need of reinforcements, my younger son is a different story. Socially he will be fine. Academically, I am not confident that this school will lead/guide him to achieve his ultimate success.

I love EASD let alone EAMS!! 5-8 grade was one of my favorite school years of my life! The teachers are great, go the 'extra mile' and are there for you when you need them. I totally disagree with the other negative comments. You have to be active with school to like school. I would recommend this school to anyone!

Not enough control over the students who get into fights, call kids names and the administration and teachers are afraid of.

5/6 and 7/8 are connected physically, but worlds apart. The 5/6 portion does not plan for things and in my opinion flies by the seat of their pants, and most times it ends up being a mess. The traffic/congestion is not even being dealt with. The Orientation and Open House might as well as been non-existant, it was so unhelpful.

I too agree with everyone else. I am so unhappy with the school I have been looking into alternatives. My son always excelled in school, nothing short of being an honor student, now he is barely passing. He tells me the way the teachers yell instead of helping, how they point out all their faults. How is this useful? The 5 & 6 grade years are the most important. This is when our children decide if they are going to take education seriously. Even after moving into the new building, it still runs no smoother. It is a shame to scar a child like this. I know mine hasn't been the same emotionally since he started there.

When I went to EAMS, I thought the teachers were great. They would go the 'extra mile.' Yes, some teachers seemed like they just were too inexperienced, but the majority of the teachers were great. While some of the other reviews say that this school changed their child's outlook on schooling negatively, I must say, some teachers inspired me to want to be a writer! I have to admit that some of the lessons were taught in earlier school years, but overall, this school was great.
