PMCA is an amazing place! The teachers are incredible, the head of school is inspirational and supportive, and the families are welcoming and inviting! My son is in his second year at PMCA and loves it! He is learning so much and having fun while doing it. The atmosphere is warm, Christ-centered, and filled with joy. My husband and I are extremely pleased with the education our son is receiving. We couldn't imagine a better place for him to be. The school has everything we have ever hoped for in looking for a school for our family. There is cultural diversity, excellent academics, a safe environment, extra-curricular activities, and great Christian education. We are proud Phil-Mont parents!!

My son is about to finish kindergarten at PMCA. We have been very impressed with his teacher and all other staff members. My son broke his leg (not at school) and they have done more than we could have asked to accommodate him - not because they had to, but because they care about him. My wife graduated from PMCA and was well prepared for college. I highly recommend PMCA for anyone looking for a Christ-centered education for their children.

I attended this school for the majority of my schooling. I began in elementary school and ended late in my high school career. This school does a wonderful job of preparing students for college only to let them down. Elementary school is focused on solid preparation for middle school. Middle school is focused on abstract thinking and preparation for high school. The first two years of high school are geared towards college, but junior year, you're bound to be let down. I was in a class with some of the smartest people I have ever met. The best school that any of them went to is in the top 40. I left, finished at another school, and my university is the top 25. This school does such a good job of teaching students how to work and weaving God's word through everything, but when it really counts, there are little to no AP classes and poor guidance in dealing with applications for college.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.

More from this school
  • PMCA is committed in all matters of faith and life to the Bible as the inerrant and infallible word of God. PMCA subscribes to the Reformed system of doctrine as contained in the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Confession of Faith (Philadelphia Baptist Confession). Accordingly, PMCA acknowledges Christ as the Creator and Sustainer of all things, the Sovereign Ruler over all of life, and the Redeemer of sinful mankind. The Bible gives primary responsibility to parents to bring up their children in the “discipline and instruction of the Lord” (Ephesians 6:4). PMCA does not operate in the parents’ place; rather, it functions as the parental agent, with authority to act in the parents’ absence and in voluntary cooperation with them. PMCA expects parents to assume responsibility for the behavior of their children. (A Christian family will be defined as a family with a profession of faith from at least one parent/guardian). God commands that His children develop fully in every part of their lives (Genesis 1:26-28). They should become biblically responsible citizens within their cultures and lead those cultures into deeper awareness and understanding of Jesus Christ as the Lord of culture. PMCA produces students who demonstrate godliness, think biblically, and are ready to respond to God’s calling. Students are prepared to articulate a Christian world-and-life view in the university setting or wherever God may call them. PMCA focuses on preparing students for college using classic liberal arts curricula. PMCA upholds high standards of academic integrity. Students are expected to perform to the best of their God-given abilities. PMCA supports the faculty in their carrying out the school’s vision by providing the necessary tools for such an endeavor, including effective leadership, appropriate organizational systems, and opportunities for professional and spiritual development. The faculty demonstrate a mastery of their academic discipline, a knowledge of educational methodology, and spiritual maturity in their interaction with students and families. PMCA upholds biblical standards of respect and behavior, which should be reflected in the lives of students, parents, faculty, staff, and board. The atmosphere of PMCA is characterized by loving relationships in recognition of and in response to God’s grace in individual lives and in His sustaining of the school. PMCA serves Christian families within the Philadelphia and southeastern Montgomery County community, acknowledging and supporting its demographic diversity. Co-curricular programs enrich the students’ education and are delivered in a high quality and effective manner. All students are expected to participate in service opportunities as an integral part of the student experience.
