I'm a recent graduate from Strong Vincent High School. I believe that Strong Vincent is a good high school but only if you put effort into it. There are many student who go to strong vincent because it's location. A lot of the student that go there also don't care about their academics. I did and I got a lot out of it I'm even in college and doing well. The main issue with strong vincent, aside from students who go because the have to, are the rules. There are so many rules and so many regulations that it distracts teachers from the actual teaching process. They have spend time writing students up for breaking dress code instead of teaching them. If the students could get a little breathing room they may be able to actually learn rather than being suspended for wearing a hoodie.

sadly I must agree with the statement below. With the leadership more concerned with the facade of being "good" rather than doing the work of becoming good many of our young people are finding themselves stranded because of the agenda of the scools leaders

This school is broken from the top down. Strong Vincent is more concerned with getting students out the door than ensuring they receive a quality education. Teachers claim that the students are so terrible that they are unable to teach, however, the students at Strong Vincent desire structure and standards; when provided with these components, they are willing to work hard and meet goals. With that said, there are many students at the school who have no vested interest in their education and will make trouble but with a more supportive and visible administration (one less concerned with "looking good" as opposed to being good), relationships could be made that would help turn the school around. Sadly, I do not send my own child there because I do not feel that they would receive a good education or attend classes in a positive environment.

Strong Vincent is a bad high school the academics are bad, some teachers teach but don't really get you prepaired for the pssa, the rules are really strict, they make up new rules every week, its really a bad school, aslo the students aren't really nice. I would recommend this school out of the other Erie schools though.

I am about to attend my first year of high school and SV. I've heard some bad things about the school but for the most part it's about the students that attend. I've met the teachers and all of them seem fairly nice and despite the fact that there are a few odd balls most of them are very supportive not to mention the counselor. She s done nothing but help me since I ve mentioned attending. The only negative opinions towards the teachers I ve received are from those who like to get in trouble and blow off their work. It may lack a little bit of challenge but none the less a good school and I am proud to say I ll be attending there.

I am going into my Sophomore year at SV. It's horrible and if I could, I'd leave.

I graduated from SV in 2004 and it was a good experience for me. Alot of people think that its a bad school, but it offers alot to the students. Caring teachers, the greatest administration and extracurricular activities for everyone. I went to the Academy my freshmen year and hated it, the work was easy for me, and there were no activities for me to do to represent my school, i had to go elsewhere, i just wasn't challenged the way i wanted. SV gave me that, if the work was easy, i could be challenged in other areas. They also had a great outlet for gifted students. I would reccommend this school to all students.
