I am a former student who attended this school for all 7 years from K-6. I liked the fun days we had. I got very lucky and did not have any bad teachers until 6th grade, but all bad in 6th grade. I kind of in a way like this school better than the 7-8th grade building on the main campus because it was a good difficulty/pace. Once you hit 6th/7th grade it REALLY starts to pick up. Now for the main three things I disliked about the school (in order from least to most disliked). 3. All the substitute teachers are mean, and leave bad reports, so we get in trouble when the regular teacher comes back. 2. Although I never really bought lunch here, people often complained about the food. You pretty much have to eat what they served that day, pack your lunch, or go hungry. 1. Now time for my least favorite part about this school. No air conditioning. The only rooms that are air conditioned are the library, and the computer labs. Most parts of the building don't even have air ducts, and are heated by units under the windows, that are basically radiators with fans to blow the air out, and covers so you don't get burnt. On a hot day, It can get hot enough to pass out, especially on top floor.
I have had so many great experiences with parents and students. It is a great place to learn and work.
I have three children that have gone to ECE. (One is still there). It is a Wonderful school! The teachers are experienced, enthusiastic, caring, involved, and always available to discuss any parental concerns. The technology program is great! White boards, smart boards, computer lab and computers in every classroom. Programs for gifted and learning support for those students that need it. Anti-bullying program, Awesome PTO! Academic programs are challenging, also art, music, band, intramurals, morning workouts, lots of clubs! We love ECE!
We have two children at ECE. We were apprehensive at first due to the large size of the school district but the staff at ECE are caring and enthusiastic people who provide a personal experience. Our children love the teachers and the quality of education has met our high expectations.
My two daughters went there and had wonderful, supportive teachers.
I feel that the education that my children have received at ECE has been superior. Although we live in a large school district, it does not feel like it at ECE-the staff are warm and vested in our children's future.
I am absolutely thrilled with the quality of education that my children have received at Evans City Elementary. We have been blessed with wonderful teachers who have shown a real interest in my children's academics. I can only hope that the rest of our years at ECE are as wonderful as they have been thus far!
I have 2 children in this school - a first grader and a second grader. My husband and I like the school and teachers, but overall we think there are better schools out there. A lot depends on the teacher your child ends up with here. There are a handful of outstanding ones who seem to have a genuine interest in the children in their classrooms - the rest are mediocre at best.
This is a very good school provided your children get the 'good' teachers. Parents are allowed to request the teachers, which is worth taking the time to write the letter. I am pleased with the gifted pullout teacher she is absolutely a gem. I wish that the kids had her everday! The school has questionable water quality though. My kids bring a waterbottle.
I have not been impressed with the quality of education at Evans City Elementary or Middle School. Many of the teachers let students grade each others homework and this leads to problems. I have not encountered many teachers there that showed any real love or enthusiasm for the students or their job.
