I am shocked at the March 25th comment. It as if the person is speaking of another school. Mt husband and I are both well educated and very involved with the school and I have never experienced such inattentiveness or negativity. I have always found FES to be very proactive not only in education but, in teaching good citizenship. All of my son's teachers have kept us informed by email daily of what was taught and what will be taught. The principal has great leadership skills and the Board of Diretcors has made excellent choices in hiring top notch teachers. My son is in first grade and reads and does third grade level math. I believe the balance between learning and fun is notable. But, to each his own. I guess some who may not be as involved as many of us are could feel left out of the loop. My suggestion is "get involved". Coomunicate with the teachers and principal. they have an open door policy.

We could not be happier with the quality of education and educators at Fairview. All of the staff, including the principal and specialists are wonderful. They are professional, hold high standards, and maintain a very positive and nurturing environment where the kids have a lot of fun. You can't beat the school. Most parents are as happy as we are and the kids just love it. I really don't know of anyone that isn't generally pleased with this school. There are always so much going on for the kids to do in and out of school. I read the review from March 25, 2009 and am totally perplexed by this parent's opinion. If you have an issue-they deal with it. We wouldn't send our kids anywhere else-public or private.

I think Fairview elementary is a school were all they do is push the facts..I see little hands on activities and learning is not fun for the children. Parents are not informed on what is going on in the school until the last minute. The website that is suppose to keep the parents informed about what is taking place in the classroom is not updated and when it is the information is very vague. Some of the teachers at the school speak in a manner that is not appropriate and have little control over how the students treat each other. When confronted with the issues it is presented back in a manner as oh kids will be kids! We bought a home in Fairview because of the raving word about the school district..but guess what we are not impressed at all! No diversity in race or money!

I am very pleased with Fairview Elemetary thus far. My sons teacher has been very involved and makes myself and fiancee aware of our sons progress.
