This is not the good school it once was. They used to be considered a great "country" school. They no longer are. Drugs are a real issue and so is bullying. They have no leadership and the principal and teachers take no responsiblity. Had to move our children elsewhere.

Kennard-Dale is a wonderful high school. My daughter graduated in 2006, had great SAT scores, won a nice scholarship to a top-rated college, and came away from high school with a fantastic education. The French, Chorus, and History teachers are stellar. If people don't succeed at this school, they have no one to blame but themselves. Hopefully, the changes in administration will stabilize as this is the only thing that threatens to change the quality of this school.

About the tests

In 2011-2012 Pennsylvania used the Pennsylvania System of State Assessments (PSSA) to test students in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in math and reading, in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing, and in grades 4, 8 and 11 in science. The results for reading, writing, science and math are displayed on GreatSchools profiles. The PSSA is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Pennsylvania. The goal is for all students to score at or above proficient on the test.
