I have only experienced the middle and elementary schools. This district seems to have teachers with the mentality that they matter more than the kids. We switched to this school and the quality of teachers, including their helping students in poor at best. Keeping parents advised as to changes in their child's behavior or grades in non-existent. They have an online service so that parents can view their children's grades that is more often than not out of date, or contains incorrect information. Teachers do not seem to care about helping a student, unless it is convenient for them, many times my child asked for help from a teacher, and was told that they were "too busy". Obviously not updating their grades.

Teacher effectiveness: Ineffective
June 05, 2015
As always there are a few exceptions that seem to care about the students, and approach teaching as a profession and not a chore.

Amount of homework: Not enough

rarely have homework- when they do it does not always relate to the course/ exam material (there are very few text books provided)

Develops grit: Strongly disagree
June 05, 2015
They are not willing to help a student, nor willing to notify parents so that the child can be dealt with, taught, or shown anything in the classroom or at home

Develops respect: Strongly disagree
June 05, 2015
They tolerate behavior that is not acceptable, there is a lack of respect from the students to the teachers, and vice-versa.

Develops empathy: Strongly disagree

The teachers do not know how to teach, unless this can be taught by viewing YouTube they will not even attempt

Develops honesty: Disagree

Unless your child is a star football player, the district is not interested in your child, or your opinion. Even school board meetings are not productive

I go to Beth Center, I don't mind going there. I don't like the principal or the superintendent. Some teachers seriously need to be fired because they seem like they hate kids. We don't have a nurse that is in our building at all times. Our nurse has to switch between three buildings because our school doesn't want to pay for another one. They'll be sorry one day when something bad happens to someones child when they need medical attention and do not have it. All of the classes (advanced) that I have taken, seem to be very good. I really like the gym staff. There are two wondeerful gym teachers that work at BC. The only sport Beth Center really, truly cares about is football. I play soccer and we aren't that good, but we sure are improving. I like BC though, wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

I feel that the education provided in our school district is astounding if the students are willing to apply themselves. No school will have an outstanding record with grades if the students don't care. The point is: there will always be teachers that are not meant for teaching and there will be those who have the ability to change the world, but if a negative outlook of work is presented in a student he/she will not succeed. The teachers do their jobs. That is what they are paid to do. Our principal keeps the school under control and does a very good job at it. The things he has to deal with at times are unbearable. If any adult is the problem, it is our superintendent. I feel, as a senior, it was necessary for us to learn commas this year because they build a foundation for writing. I love it.

This school is horrible. There is very little education being given to students here, most teachers are just working for a paycheck, not to educate students. Athletic opportunities for girl's is next to none. The school board is more concerned about their own interests than that of the students. Would not reccomend this school.

Very good quality for size. Opprotunities available that are not at other local high schools, such as different foreign languages. Great sports opprotunities. good pupil/teacher ratio.

I believe that the teachers, do a wonderful job, with what they have. The guidance offic, nurse, Special Education Office, do a great job. The police chief for the school district is a wonderful and fair man. The Principal on the other hand, is something left to be desired!

Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.
