My family and I moved into this area at the beginning of the school year. The school secretary was extremely friendly and helpful while we were registering, answering questions both school related and just information gathering. My daughter absolutely loves school and can't wait to go eveyday. I admit I was a bit concerned how breaking in at 4th grade level would go. I needn't have worried! Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. She had been at the same school since pre-k 3, so I was completely amazed by how fast she fit in!!! Big Knob Elementary is a GREAT school indeed!
I am extremely pleased with the school psychologist and teaching staff who helped place my daughter in the correct classes. She came from a Catholic school and needed some academic assistance, which they do not offer. She went from a stressed out, irritable D student to a happy, loving A student.
We have a great new principle, and academically, my children have both done well. Big Knob is a great elementary school, with lots of opportunities for artistic expression as well as an involved, active PTA.
I am extremely disappointed in the 'acting principal' and guidance staff that are currently in employment..Academically our school is one of the better schools and the teachers are great..
