I can't imagine sending my child to any other school in the area. MMI offers a great curriculum and really challenges my child. There is no question the academics are first rate...look at the average SAT and ACT scores and how they compare to other schools. It is a small school, and that is something my child likes since he is involved in sports. We don't qualify for financial aid, but we feel it is the best money we spend. I would recommend this school to everyone.

MMI Prep has been a wonderful alternative to the public school educational system in our area. Both of our children have gained wonderful study skills and self confidence since attening MMI. The assemblies and open house presentations have aided in their development of public speaking and the teachers, for the most part, really care about the students. Because of its small size, the kids have athletic opportunities that they would not be given in a much large school where the competition would eliminate many from making the team. MMI's athletic programs have increased throughout our time there. Because the students are treated with more respect and given more freedom, they are more likely to rise to the challenge and work harder academically. I am confident that grades are not bought. Our childrens grades (good and bad) have always reflected their performance. There are children from many well-to-do families not making the grade. Snobby kids can be found anywhere. MMI actually has a large student population receiving financial aid! I have no doubt that we made the right decision sending our children to MMI.

I have been very happy with my children attending MMI. The Administration and Faculty are terrific. I feel as though my child is thoroughly prepared for college as his older siblings have been when they graduated from MMI. Kudos to all, I wouldn't hesitate to send my child there at all. They have also been very generous with scholarships that have helped our family greatly

I hae two children in MMI, and it has been a wonderful experience. The kids are definitely first here, and any help they need can always be found. We are not a well to do family, so I do not understand the comments that you can 'buy' your grades. The work is definitely challenging, but it's nothing that a child could not accomplish if they have good study and time management skills. The administration knows every child, and the teachers go out of their way to help. I'm very happy with MMI and would choose it again.

This is the best school I have gone to so far in my academic career. This school has given me many challenges, but with the teachers wonderful support I easily got straight A's at MMI. I loved the projects we would do that helped us understand what we had been studying.

As a former student and graduate, I must comment on the terrific education I received from MMI. My family was not rich by any means, so the rumors of "buying" grades are false...I was a top grad and obtained a lot of financial aid so I could stay enrolled there. It paid off and I breezed through college. This was due to terrific teachers who cared about you individually. That was several years ago. Upon returning to visit, I learned that some of those teachers have either retired or left on their own terms, and their replacements, from what I've heard, simply don't measure up. Also, the higher-ups were not very personable to me and I have a feeling the school's identity is being compromised by those who want to make change for the sake of making change. This was a 5-star school when I attended. Now? I'm not so sure...

Challenging, Caring , with great kids and staff. My child would easily get staright A's with little effort at the public school. 2009 was his first year at MMI, Yes he wrote many papers, is learning to speak in Public and is learning so much! Perhaps the previous reviews are from people who had personality issues with staff, or maybe their kids didn't try hard or ask for help. It is a awesome school, with very challenging academics, adn aims to treat the teens like an emerging adult with increased expectations until proven otherwise.

I am a graduate and I have to honestly have to say that MMI has ruined my college career. I was onf the top of my class and good grades at 75 and above. If you get a C you were happy. It did not help me by going fast in my studies i.e. sixth graders work on an 8th grade level they went so fast allot of parents complained and the school did not renew the teachers contracts. All I got out of it was public speaking and how to write papers. It is a very small school and we wasted money on nothing. The kids are VERY hard to deal with and make up 70% of you school day. The principal and vice principal are clueless about bulling and make it seem like it s not happening but they are wrong. I am very sorry and regret attending MMI.

I can't believe how terrible this school is?! It is so expensive. You seriously buy all your grades. They go so fast and you never learn. They kids are soo stuck up and if you have a problem the first kid who runs and tattles is the one Dr. Fowler, principal, believes first (the bullie). This is a terrible school to sent you child to. Save the money for college because its not worth it for this school. Honestly. If both 6th grade teachers get fired from parents complaining then what would think. Bad accidemics, bad principal, bad kids, bad everything.

I do not understand how these kids are advancing to the next grade when they flunk math or science - take summer school then advance to the next year. When I was in high school 20 years ago, if you did not perform well here you were kicked out. Now, they "try" to tutor your child, but grades still stay the same, i.e. flunking, you just go to summer school. My child was a honor student all throughout life, and then went here. The worst change ever. Now my child's scores are on permanent transcripts for college. We changed to AP courses at the high school and doing well. God I pity the kids who stay there and try to get into a good college/university with the grades at MMI. I don't know how this school is even in operation by doing this.

This school is all about the money. Kids are stuck up and form clicks. They lead false advertising. Your buy your grades here. It's all about the money and the power of who knows your mommy or daddy

MMI is pretty good in the education department. But the students are stuck-up and all clickish. The boys have no respect for the girls what-so-ever. They are not good kids. They constantly curse and never get punished for mis-behavior. Now, with the new awesome Vice-President, Dr. Jackie, the disicpline is better and she is really nice to the students, she is just like one of them!

I currently have two students at MMI Preparatory School and could not be more pleased with the education my children are receiving. They were in the gifted classes in the Hazleton School District through grade 5. The sixth grade made a world of difference providing them with great time management skills and much more. The teachers are very helpful and spend the time to explain the subject matter very well. The classes are small and everyone knows everyone. They geet together all the time for parties at each others homes. I believe we are fortunate to have a school like MMI in our area.

I have two children at MMI. They are both doing very well. The teachers at MMI are always available to the students especially if extra help is needed in any subject. Along with academics students are also taught time management which helps them become better prepared for college and the real world. I have heard many former students express how much better prepared for college they were than their fellow peers. I truly believe an MMI education is well worth it.

MMI did not meet my needs as a great prep school. I graduated recently and i was not pleased. Yes the academics are fairly good but i think any schools ap classes are just as superior. There is also a small variety of extra curricular activites and the sports teams are lacking. The school is also very cliqish and many people are not aware of that. MMI is a mediocre school. My personal opinon is that the best program at MMI is there lunches.

MMI has a reputation as being a great college preparatory school. This has been true and still is today. Unfortunately, the school has gone down hill since the former president retired after the 2000-2001 school year and the current president has taken over. He had some big shoes to fill. The role he plays in student life is practically non-exsistent. He can never be seen in the schools hallways and when a problem arises it is seemingly always brushed off by the president. This doesn't mean the problem is'nt adressed, because it is by the wonderful Academic Dean, Mr. Sam Schaeffer, and the equally wonderful Dean of Students, Mr. Anthony Cusat. Both of whom are nearing retirement. Your child still will get an excellent education here despite the lack of leadership from the president. The classes are small, the sudents are good kids, and the teachers care.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
