my daughter was in a md school untill about 6 mo ago. i think the teachers are ok and i think everyone is nice but i do not think the children are disiplined enought. also if a child damages another childs clothing or anything the school will not contact the childs parents to enform them that there child ruined another childs clothes. for a new student i do not feel the school is making any good impressions for me.

James Gettys has been a good school for my daughter. Their strengths are teacher involvement and a caring Principal. A good counselor's office too. Remember where you are when you enroll your children here. This is not the pace of Maryland and Virginia and these schools and families do not have the resources of high-income Washington DC area counties, but James Gettys has its simple grace and wholesomeness that leaves Washington area worries behind.

I love the way that the school involves every student and grade in activities. The teachers are wonderful with ideas and creativity to keep the kids interested. This is all helped by other staff and volunteers that are very dedicated. If I have ever had a problem, the teachers and Mr. Morrill are very easy to talk to and work out the issue. I would also have to say that the way that everyone interacts and works together really helps the kids enjoy being there. The teachers, principal, and other support staff really care about the students. I think that is almost if not in some ways just as important as how well our children are taught in this school. I do not plan on moving out of this school.

The teachers are great at James Gettys, but I believe the school needs stronger discipline policies. I found a lot of discipline issues at this school. Principal is nice and friendly, good with the kids, but needs to be stronger on discipline.

The quality of the academics is as well as can be expected considering the school board invested state funding in remodeling the schools while not taking into consideration the need for text books for the students.Teachers do a wonderful job of supporting the students in their learning. Each teacher has their own e-mail address and phone extention and utilize this equipment very well for keeping in contact with the students' parents.

the teachers are nice. if there is problems the school helps the child. my daughter is in k. they do alot with the kids. there is always things going on for the kids to keep busy. field day everyone is involed not just 1 or 4 people. and they all get ribbons for being in it. it is a good school for kids. and so are the others in the area.
