Yet again, another quality academic year courtesy of St. Thomas the Apostle. My children were challenged and excited about learning. The extracurricular activities proved to keep them engaged outside of the school day. Wonderful institution of learning and well worth it.

The Family environment at St Thomas is exactly what we were looking for in a school program. Our children have attended since preschool. Parents are encouraged to volunteer. I previously worked at another Catholic school where parents were not as encouraged to participate, so parental involvement is not always the case in all Catholic schools. My children are both happy and excited to go to school. I have been very impressed with the extra programs and services offered; before and after care program, language, music, art, physical education, computers, band, scouts, brownies, daisy, talent show, art fair, sports.

The loving, safe and involved community create an environment for learning that I want my children to experience. My oldest is a third grader but knows teachers in the upper grades because of the smaller size than the public school. The teacher has a math club that meets during lunch recess for fun which my child loves! My third grader and first grader were playing a game in Spanish after completing their homework the other day. Having our catholic faith and values enriched during the school week is the added bonus of St. Thomas. The academic rigor, the instilling of discipline and respect, and the living of the faith are what make St. Thomas the Apostle well worth the investment in my children.

St. Thomas the Apostle school in Glen Mills, PA provides a first-class education. The children, starting in the 4 year old preschool conduct science experiments and learn Spanish! For grades Kindergarten thru 8th grade, they have a lab-lerner (fully equipped) science laboratory, Honors Math program (5-8), foreign language program, small class-to-teacher ratios, plenty of arts opportunities (chorus, band, art show and talent show), a wonderful community of parent volunteers, smart boards in every classroom (including 'specials' ), dedicated faculty for technology, phys ed, art, and music, and the most caring, excellent teachers (many of whom hold their masters' degrees). They educate in a safe environment where catholic values and traditions are stressed giving children needed discipline. But they also allow for the individual child's needs and embrace the 'whole child'. Three of my children are enrolled in this school and despite the high taxes I pay in the Garnet Valley school district, I would not dream of sending them anywhere else!

We recently moved our daughter from public to parochial school and couldn't be happier with our choice. The small, family environment at St Thomas is so nurturing. Yet the curriculum far exceeds what she was offered in the public school system. With the public school emphasis being on the PSSA tests, the curriculum has become very narrowed to focus on English and math. At St Thomas she is also receiving extensive social studies and science courses that she needs in her education as well as a greater understanding of the world around her and the ways that she herself can affect change and make it a better place. As far as ammenities... St Thomas offers everything that everyone always tells you is lacking in the catholic schools. They have a computer lab, laptops, smartboards in each classroom, music lessons, an array of sports programs, and even a science lab.

Awsome school to be at! Every teacher and student is polite, respectful, nice, and kind. Saint Thomas' student council and sports teams are unbelieveable and unbeatedable. These teachers and princeapals are so encourging to the students it is indescriable. The art, computer, and gym program is awsome and the books in the library range from pre K to 8th! One of the best schools to put your kid in if you live in this area.

Good parent involvement available, but not absolutely necessary. Love, love the interaction btw. students and with their teachers - respect and manners are stressed & evident. Seems on par w/local public schools re:speed & material covered in classes. Cannot beat the incorporation of God & religion into daily activities & studies, from 3yo program all the way up. Excellent emphasis on generosity, social consciousness, etc. Teachers are excellent - great ideas and really good, kind people. Principal is excellent as well and open to suggestion and dialogue. Really nice envt. for family overall.

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
