Geared too much towards preparing for the next school year, and not enough focus on today. Treat the young kids as if they are much older and take all the fun out of school.

Im a parent in the district. I love that the administrators seem to care deeply about the district to continue to monitor and develop opportunities that allow my children the same education as our wealthier neighbors in Hampton and North Allegheny. For the most part the educators are also very good, except that most of them are recent hires and I have noticed that they arent as seasoned in dealing with issues such as bullying. Some of the younger ones will pretend not to see it so they dont have to address the zero tolerance policy that is nothing more than a fancy sign near the entrance, whereas the recent retirees sparked fear in kids who were caught bullying. There is widespread bullying that goes on in this school. Its unfortunate that such a great district's reputation, with all its programs and activities has to be compromised by this.

I told my daughter this morning that there was only about six weeks of school left. She told me that she was going to miss this year. She's moving onto the middle school next year. She really enjoys the school, her 'team' and her teachers. It's not a struggle to get her up to go to school everyday and I thank the school and the teachers for making her school years so enjoyable.
