I'm only a sophmore at SWHS but already it's really not that bad! "teachers could care less"? NO way! From experience, one of my teachers told me I could stay after class just to be able to finish a test if I wanted to. Teachers always offer students to stay after, or come in early. Sure, there's always going to be mean students, there are mean people everywhere! If you join a club, sport, or any activity, you will really feel like a family. I'm not sure how many things I'm in, but I'm glad I do all of them because everyone is always so much fun to be around. And actually classes are really not huge at all! One of my classes only had about 17 students in it. I'm hoping to graduate from SW but if I don't I really hope, and I know that I'll make so many great memories just being here!!
I think this school has great school spirit. There are many programs and classes offered. Everytime I meet a student from this school, I am always impressed.
This school is horrible. Most of the teachers could care less. They simply move on no matter if you understand the information or not. Also, really don't care to help you or even care if you pass the class. The kids are bad too. This school is so crowded, classes are huge, students are mean, and the lunch situation is just terrible trying to find a place to sit. Whatever problems you have won't go away easy because of the mean principal and guidance counselors who most could care less. I would consider Delone or homeschooling. Really anything over spending yours days here.
All the students are mean? Hahahahaha well sure, there's some bad kids anywhere you go, but if you get involved in activities at south west, like sports, or the MANY extracurricular activities, you'll meet plenty of quality individuals.
I'm a Graduate of the class of 2008. I Like SW High School. Some of the Teachers are nice there and some are not, but I love that they have some many Activitys to do in SWHS. They also have a Study Hall for this school. Wich I beleave is good, because that gives the kids get there homework done. The food is good there. They also have a program called'L.I.U'. It is for Special Needs people. Overall I like SWHS.
5 stars great school and great staff
South Western is a good school with lots of extracurricular activities. The teachers are pretty cool. I like it here. It is in a small town. I feel pretty safe here.
Block schedule-great staff-
I think SWHS provided an excellent quality education. The parents aare quite involved and the extracurricular activities are numerous. I was involved in sports, clubs, plays and still managed to do very well in school. this education served me well as I went on to a great four year college and then law school. I graduated at the top of my class in law school and my first job was at a huge law firm in manhattan. I can assure you this high school has what it takes to enable your child to succeed if they are driven to.
