Although the administration is less than stellar the educators are dedicated. I have a child there now who is in the "gifted" program. It is called Seminar. A lot of the reviews say there isn't one. I have had two children in this program over the past 5 years. The music program is exceptional. There ARE after school and pre school programs also. You need to update the info.

We moved to this area purposely because we thought the schools would be better than prior district. WRONG! HMS teachers/administrators are possibly the worst communicators in the world. The guidance counselors/teachers act as if they are doing parents a huge favor if they respond to e mails/phone calls. They don t post homework or tests/quizzes on the website until AFTER the work is graded so there is no self help option to see if your child is doing well/poorly. Yet the staff is obviously annoyed if a parent attempts to contact them via e mail or phone. I will be sending my child to private school for high school. Again, we moved here for the school system , so this is something I didn t expect to have to do.

No gifted program, counselors are poor as is the administrators. Community is mostly not college-educated and this has filtered down into the children. We are moving to a better school district.

I am quite pleased with all that the faculty and staff at Haverford Middle School do to create a safe, encouraging, and challenging learning environment for my daughter. All have been quickly responsive to any concerns or questions voiced by either my daughter or myself. Watching her developing independence in such a healthy educational environment is rewarding.

This year at hav high and the middle school have been the best ever thus far. 90% of the teachers/counselors/admin/supervisors I have come in conatcxt with have been beyond helpful and patient. Teenagers wear you very thin and the entire staff in hav school district should be commended for a job well done! thank you all; sincerely, a very happy parent

I am a student who goes there, and I can honestly say this is one of the best schools I have ever seen. It may not look good asthetically, but everyone, the teachers, staff members, even about 95% of the students are the nicest bunch of people I have ever met. All of the teachers will go out of their way and line of duty to help you if you need help, same goes with all of the staff. My opinion on the asthetics, they're not perfect, barely good, but the school hasn't been improved(with the exception of thechnology) in about 35 years. It is a great school and I love it there

Haverford Township schools are far from wonderful. The administration is far more devoted to maintaining a mediocre 'status quo' than providing a quality education. Do yourself a favor, try to buy a home in Lower Merion or Radnor instead.

If your child requires special education classes, good luck, they have a primitive spec ed program. Elementary schools very good at spec education, this middle school fails miserably, they don't even try. Many fights within the hallways of this school, administrators/teachers turn the other way often times, little or no involvement in throwing the truly bad kids out the door, '...it's Haverford, those things don't happen here'

HMS may not have the modern charm but it is still up to date teaching wise. All computer labs have Mac OSX, the spiffy one's with the cameras and widgets. All teachers will go to lengths to help, and I know as a kid. There are classes such as seminar that brighter children can attend, and I am involved in this program and find it very educating and stimulating. Their are also good special ed classes and tutoring, and all kids involved in these classes can recieve out-of class help whenever they need it on tests or alike. The school is old but is being remodeled this summer, and is updating furniture, gyms, and student tools. Even I admit the food isn't very good, but their are vending machines, with only diet soda in the soda department, and other fruit and milk healthy options. The cafeteria does cater to good health
