This is an ok middle school if you know how to play the system. If your child doesn't score well on a qualifying exam for a higher level class then just demand they retake it and retake it. If they aren't placed in all High Achievement classes then tear up the assigned class sheet and demand a new one. If your child isn't labeled as Gifted right away then you should look for another school district. They only look after the Gifted Ones and those who are deeply struggling. Everyone else is on their own and neglected. The private school in the area, Moravian Academy, is 1-2 years ahead on the curriculum so forget about trying to transfer there after 6th grade.

I have three grandchildren who attended Saucon Valley School District Middle School and who have moved to Illinois. Their education in Saucon prepared them well for the transition into a new school district.

My daughter attends this school. We are consistently pleased with the high level of challenging education provided. The teachers are fabulous and very accessible. They communicate frequently with parents. The activities offered are first-rate. Students are held accountable to a very high standard of work. The band program is absolutely wonderful - a full period each morning is devoted to musical study. The community is a wonderful place to raise a family.
