We pulled our two daugters out of Hereford and put them in a private school. We were tired of the small-minded mentallity, the cliques, and the over payed poorly educated teachers who are promoting children who aren't deserving academic promotion. The private school we placed them in is far more superior and doesn't push this horrendous spiral math which dummies concepts down and doesn't give students a good foundation in mathematical concepts. There is way too much acceptance of bulleying and Mr. Mucellin doesn't seem to care about the kids who are the on the receiving end of the bulleying. One friend of ours has a daughter with Asperger's Syndrome who was constantly bullied on the bus and Mr. Mucellin didn't do anything until the threat of a lawsuit got him to finally get off of his rear end!!! The reading specialists are not in the least bit educated about Asperger's children and children with Auditory Processing Disorder - I took my daughter to an educational psychologist and a professional reading specialist who completely disagreed with the evaluations Hereford's reading specialists had given both of my daughters. It was as though they mixed the two girls up!

My little boy has been in Herford School for the past 3years. I must say I don't like it in his half day kindergartin. I noticed my son having issues in all subjects and it felt like knowbody would help him. I sent a letter to school and I would say a day or so later I got a call about a teacher meeting. Since then they have been on it with my son. He hates having to go but I can see the big affect the school had on him. His teacher this year now that he is in first grade must say her name Mrs. Fehr is a perfect teacher. Everynight her and I write to each other about my sons day and how he did in school. I have to thank her to the bottom of my heart thank you for taking James under your wing and teaching him all you can. For the princible I do really like him to. He is in each and every childs life. If there is an issue either in school/home or anything else he is there for them. There is also Mrs. Dutcher she has helped my son so well with reading that I have to thank her too. If I forgot anyone else sorry and thank you. Glad my son goes there!!!

My son and daughter were redistricted to Hereford this year. I will be the first to write that I was hesitant about the move for a variety of reasons. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. Despite the longer bus ride to and from school (which I still view as a negative), my kids have flourished socially and academically. My son's teacher is challenging (but caring) and my daughter's teacher is thoughful and makes my child think. If I had to suggest an area of improvement for the school, I would have to write that I would like the online gradebook to also include the posting of HW assignments. This capability is there but I don't believe the teachers have used it yet.

The school environment is becoming very dangerous. Lots of bullying going on especially in the caf and playground. Nobody want to do anything about this. They have a bullying policy that they don't implement. Bullying right in the classroom as well. Teachers don't do anything about it. They protect the bully. Scarry. Will be pulling both children out at the end of the year. Really i could go on and on. Wouldn't recommend this school to anyone.

We were very unhappy with Hereford school. We pulled our son out of 4th grade this year due to dull academics, a tired teacher and a lousey curriculum. ALl they worry about is PSSA scores and test prep.

My son went to hereford for all 5 years and let me tell you, we absolutely loved every teacher and Mr. Mucellin. He has so many kids and parents to remember yet every time I saw him at school functions he would always know my name and ask about my son and the family. My son is now in the middle school and I like his two new teachers but I would love for him to have his teachers and principle thru college that he had in hereford elementary.

My two sons have been attending hereford Elementary School for the past two years, and I'm very pleased with their academic progress. My first grader is loving the school and he has improved his reading ability 100%. He is very interested in books and the teacher seems to be supporting him. It is indeed a great school.

The kindergarten day is too short. There're too many academics crammed into a two and a half hour day. My child already is disliking school and he's 6 years old. They're in kindergarten and they've only had recess once.

From K thru 4th Grade, Hereford Elementary provided my child with a safe learning environment, teachers willing to work hard for students and a warm & welcoming atmosphere to parents. I have never seen another school, private or public, so open to parent involvement. Teachers are adaptable & creative, support services are amply provided for those kids who require them, and children are strongly encouraged to make use of their talents & capabilities in dealing with both their intellectual endeavors and their approaches to life.
