WHES currently has about 600 students and is a tightknit community. This is our first year at this school but we quite like it. The principal is young, energetic and motivated and greets every kid that comes off the bus in the morning, a lot of them by name. He appears to be well-liked by students, parents and staff. My child happens to be in a class with a teacher of 'compromised reputation' due to her teaching style and we were worried at first. She turns out to be the best that could happen to our child. Every staff member we have met has been very personable and helpful. The music teacher knows how to get kids involved. The school offers programs to support individual learning styles and speeds (reading group, creative thinking). The playground is large and well-equipped, haven't noticed any discipline issues - great school!
