I read the review written bu Gina M. I wonder what planet she is on because this school (in general) is OUTSTANDING. The art teacher is excellent, spends HIS time on Tuesday and Thursdays to supervise the art club. He is innovative and creative and enjoys the children. I agree the principal was HORRIBLE three years ago, but the board moved swiftly to move her - unfortunately they moved her UP...WHY? I agree about the superintendent. She is WAY over her head and the assistant superintendent makes her look like the Superintendent of the Year! Leave the school alone. The teachers are excellent (with few exceptions.) Go after the admin and let's get the unions to recognize that they need to GET RID OF THE BAD TEACHERS...do you hear that UNION LEADERS?
The teachers are wonderful. They are caring and want the children to succeed.
Teachers are friendly and helpful. Willingness to work with parents concerning children with special needs. Some improvement is needed but they are working on it.
Mt. View has great teachers--the motivation for the students to thrive and achieve and the positive re-enforcement is unbeatable. They are always looking for ways to improve student/staff/and parent relations to keep parents involved in the educational strategies.
the Elementary Music Program is very strong and the High School Program is the complete opposite. It seems that the High School music teachers are not very competent. It seems like they are lazy.
If you're not from the same family tree, you're in trouble. There aren't many things for the children to do as far as activities and the academic scores speak for themselves, no need to say anymore. The teachers well, a select few are actually meant to be teachers. Most though, seem better apt to be coffee-drinking, gossip-sharing, socialite-wannabe's. When I asked to see a sample of my daughter's art work, there was 1 drawing, of a house. That's art? The music program seems to be pretty good, and they do have a very basic knowledge of computers. The superintendent leaves much to be desired, as does the principal. They let things slide if you have the right last name. I'm sending my daughter back to a private school. She's actually regressing here. Do your child a favor, stay away!
