I went to Preston and now my daughter is in the 6th grade there. It is a great school with wonderful teachers. She plays basketball and is in band. There isnt alot of after school activites to choose from but I feel that it is a possitive. My step children go to Honesdale and they are active in alot of sports which leaves them with no time for family or to be a kid.
Preston is a great school. When it first opened I attended up until entering the 9th grade, now my two children attend, one in 2nd and one in 5th. They do well and I give credit to the principal and the teachers that are dedicated to make sure the kids are academically sound and also safe. If a child needs help in any area they will address it. The only fallback is lack of extra-curricular activities, otherwise you could not ask for a better school.
I stayed in this area so my son you go to Preston because the Teachers are very caring and my son has never had any problems during his years (k thru 4) at this school. He is going into 5th grade and is doing very well in school. The Teachers are all very helpful and give the kids the help when they need it. It is a very close community and there are not any problems with drugs or gangs. I work an hour away from home and it is very satifying knowing that your child is in safe hands. My daughter is in her last year of College and has atteneded Preston and Honesdale H.S. and has also done very well in her years there. She was well prepared for college when she graduated. This school district is great.
This is a great school for education. The teachers are willing to help. I find that there is a lack of extracurricular activities but that is to be expected of a small school. The school is a wonderful place to send your children for an education!
